Something is draining my battery, If I dont drive it for a few days, the battery dies.... I know it charge because when I drive it everyday, there's no problem.

I noticed that when I take the key out of the ignitions sometime there's still a beep beep going on like you turned off the engine but the key is still in there. I left my sunroof open and water got in before, that could be a problem. Is there anything I should check specify? Oh and my clock is dead =(

The ignition is unrelated to your battery. One of my Celicas did that too. There's a little switch inside the ignition barrel that beeps when the key is in the ignition, and that gets stuck. I could always tap my ignition barrel and get it to stop. As far as your battery is concerned, I'm guessing you have a bad battery. It isn't completely dead yet, but it is probably on the way out.

How old is your battery? That happened to me to a while ago. I checked the date on the battery and it said Nov. 2005

I replaced it with a nice Bosch one and it's never failed to start.

batter was old, but replaced with a newer one..... than same problem after a week of not driving... charged battery than battery died.... after a few charge/discharge... got new battery and haven't touched the car for a while... ofcourse didnt connect the battery... so I have to test it again ><

there is a tiny switch with two wires coming out of it that is on the side of the ignition. When the key is put in the little switch is activated (i'm not exactly sure on the setup of the celica, but this is how it is on most cars). You might be able to replace the switch without taking out the lock cylinder. or you can just clip the wires so that is doesn't ding at all with the key left out(I wouldn't recommended). I don't know if the circuit is closed or open when the key is in. But it's possible that the moisture that has built up inside the switch and caused corrosion that has caused it to not shut off when the key is out.

OR..

with the ignition turned off...loosen the negative cable and slowly take it off. if something is draining your battery then it will have a medium sized spark, it should always have a very tiny spark, but this isn't what you're looking for, you are looking for the root of the medium sized spark when you take off the cable. Leave the cable off, disconnect ONE fuse at a time in each fuse panel. Each time you disconnect one fuse disconnect and reconnect the battery cable then put the old fuse back. Look for the spark to almost disappear. It will always have a tiny spark, you just want to get rid of the larger spark if there is one, because this would lead you to the general area of your power drain. After that either post up your findings online or dig through a wire schematic to see what system could be draining it. Then troubleshoot from there. Hope this helps..happy troubleshooting!

yeah, even easier it's a tiny little white box screwed to the underside of the ignition barrel, you can get to it by simply snapping off the shroud with the ignition ring and dimmer switch.

just look underneath it and you will see it, its got 2 wires running down the barrel held by a cable tie.

simply unscrew the little white box and leave it hanging, i replace the screws so i can return it if i wish. that's all you need to do it will never beep again

its a small phillips screw driver you need, 2 screws
