hey guys, i need some help on something. my car makes this knock noise after i ingage 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and also when i let off the gas.

it sounds like somethin moves when the engine makes its natural movement or when the car jerks a little. im not really sure what it is. i havent put it on a lift yet but im going to try this week. this started after i replaced my clutch in july, it does happen everytime but enough to make me want to look into it and it seems to be a little louder then b4.

im not sure if it is a mount or maybe and axel being jerked i really dont kno and would appriciate any advice if anyone has had this problem in the past or might kno what it is.

could it be something with the clutch itself? cause that almost seems like the most logical thing since you said it started right after you replaced your clutch

im not really sure. because when we dropped the tranny, one of the axles wouldnt come out thats why i say maybee the axle but im not sure. ill check the mounts next chance i get, the three that are visible look fine, the 4th i cant see, could be that one.

i really dont think its the clutch bc it does work well, (considerin the flywheel wasnt resurfaced lol) i guess i could try and get a video but i doubt you would hear anything bc it prob wont pick up the sound.

it sounds like something is moving so it probably is the mount, ill look Tuesday.

its not clutch related. chances are its a motor mount that has gone out and the engine is rocking back and forth when you get onn and off the gas

I had the same problem a year or so ago. My rear mount bolt was just plain missing...and the mounts were in pretty bad shape. I just slapped some Kirkosaurus mount inserts in the front and rear mount which was really easy and it solved the problem and then some. biggrin.gif

So yeah, I would say it is more than likely your rear motor mount.

Alright cool man thanks.

Hey how much of a difference did those inserts make? Do u have a lot of vibration with just the front and rear inserts?

Chances are it's the rear mount.
Inserts make a huge difference.

Kirkosaurus motor mount inserts. Yeah they make a great difference, and yeah there is some vibration.

+1 for mounts. Either are bad or just didn't get torqued down properly when the clutch was installed.
