Crossmember bolts stripped, threads where corssmember goes, stripped. Driverside CV boot (outboard) torn, I can see the races and cage from under my car. On a plus note the timing belt job went ok, and the car runs. Also amazed on how the car sounds running open header. So I got to rig this thing up somehow, have a few ideas tossing around.....

ah. just drill and tap the holes to the next larger size, even if its an SAE size. looks like you'll need a cv though kindasad.gif

Usually thats what I would do, but I dont feel like going through all that. So Im going to pop out the radiator, move the condenser, and drill out holes there, run two bolts, and use a plate to bring the crossmember up. And I got a new (not remaned) CV on its way. And new tires as well. With any luck I should be up and running by Sunday.

i would tack the bolts in place through the rad support, and paint the welds. just so i'll never have to worry about getting to them when im removing/tightening tat set....but that's me, having a welding machine at home haha, its REALLY convenient.

good luck!

got a new route planned, includes the famous "lime creek rd" and maybe a new very long very curvy road, "cow creek rd" looks to be a total of 70 miles, and an estimated run time of 2.5 hours w/ about 75% hard turns wink.gif
starts at the bridge, runs lime creek the opposite way as last time, and ends up in marble falls

gonna test it out this Saturday and see if it flows well, construction, bad road conditions, etc.

NEW ROUTE

well i already made the drive. i think cow creek has more "road hazards" but in all its a more chill drive. very scenic, constant curves, just a couple spots where if u go to fast u might end up in a creek. i need to make a few changes to thte route though

btw if anyone wants or needs to get a hold of me 361-648-8176. you can text or call

Paul, do you know anything about the "Twisted Sisters" run?

G's getting some new tires on and I need to "fine tune" the sway bar settings.

Do you have the schedule for what's going to happen. I have some other commitments in the evening and I was wondering the timing on things.

Meet at 1. Photoshoot once everyone arrives. Run the cruise at 3, finish at 5.dinner. Done.

The multiday thing hardly ever works but I'm thinking of getting a hotel for fri/sat nights.
