I know the 6GC is a nice looking car, but I doubt Toyota will ever build another car as beautiful as the 2000GT.

Anyone with a lazy $650k might want to look at this one...

I would hope that sales price is wrong. I just dont see 650 grand in it. Heck rare ferraris go for a million but they are highly desired. If I had to guesss... true value of this vehicle is between 65K (if it is in "ok/decent condition)-300K (if it is immaculate and numbers matching)

If I could get one for $65k it would be sitting in my garage right now! $650k is certainly high, but this is a very original and well looked after example.

Here's some further info I dug up:

QUOTE
With so few in existence, there's not a lot of auction history for the car. And yet, what records there are show a steady increase in price over the past five years. In May 2006, a 2000GT sold for the equivalent of $210,000 at auction in Australia, doubling its pre-sale estimates. Two months later, another 2000GT brought $226,000 at auction in France. And the upward trend seems to be accelerating. Last fall, a German dealer advertised one example for $400,000; at this moment, one U.S. dealer has a 46,000-mile coupe for sale with an asking price of $495,000.

"Right now, they're well ahead of [the mid-2009 sales figures]. An average car is in the $325,000 to $400,000 range," said Bob Tkacik, who, with his partner Peter Starr, operates Maine Line Exotics, specializing in Toyota's GT since the mid-1970s. Bob believes the sudden leap in prices after a long plateau reflects the fact that serious collectors have discovered the model and decided that it deserves a place in their core collections next to their Lamborghini Miuras and Ferrari 288 GTOs.

Such a nice car. smile.gif

OMG, I would so buy that if I had the money! That car is LEGENDARY! Actually, I wouldn't pay more than $450k for it, considering one was sold for that amount. Talking big numbers like that, why not talk some down, right?

LFA versus James Bond....

Versus James Bond, himself?

LFA

But James Bond drives Aston Martins. He thinks he's too good for Japan.

Sean Connery drove a 2000GT in You Only Live Twice. smile.gif

I think the GT is faaaar better looking that the LFA, but given the choice I'd still take an LFA.

This car is completely worth the money it is in immaculate shape......the 2000gt is an exotic far superior to ferraris......I have personally worked on ferraris and they suck ass no ingenuity......one model I remeber put the battery in the front passenger bumper......what kind of crap is that.....but seriously this car is history for toyota....this car was very similar to the lfa in those times on how Toyota said there was no profit made, just showing abilities they had to offer....remeber guys beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Speaking of bad ass Supras... I am sad to say that our owner of our dealership sold his 714whp Supra with only 24k miles on it, tuned by a shop that specializes in Supras in AZ somewhere... For only $40k :-( I was hoping I won a nice sum of money or became a tech and had the ability to buy it before he tried to get rid of it.
