Well the ball is in the cup but it has slipped out of the holder a few times and I had to tear into the venter console in a parking lot to fix it

Any one tried the TRD Quickshift Kit for 7th Gens? http://www.trdusa.com/partscatalog.cfm?vie...;vehicle=celica

I'm sure with some minor mods it would work... LOL.

There is no instruction about the spacer in the TWM shifter install (6th gen). Should I use the spacer that came with my 7th gen short shifter?

I want to install it this week. With everybody with this mod can you told me if I put the metal spacer in or not?

There is no direction on TWM about it!

Can you upload a picture and show us exactly what you're talking about?

If you're talking about what I think you are, there should be 4 of them and you need to manouver them between the shift assembly and the chassis of the car...

Good luck with the install. wink.gif

Ralco short shift installed in my car about a week ago, i love it. was only $60. I compared the ralco and the stock arms, you can save time and money by just cutting the stock one just below the curve, and then threading it for a shift knob. The 7th gen installation into a 6th should be the same. only takes an hour and a half

I'm not sure if what clarified already, would a 7th gen shifter assembly fit in place of a 6th gen? If its a close fit, I could make an adapter for it. Seems to be easier to find 7th gen shifters.

Just wanted to put the nail on the coffin and say that the 7th gen shifter DOES NOT WORK with RHD JDM GT-Four's.
...trust me....I just tried =(

After spending so much time trying to pry those stupid clips off (step 6)...taking out the center console, trim under the steering wheel, glove compartment all to get more room to pound out those pins (step 9)...and finally taking out the shifter...I noticed that the short shifter won't work because the shifting assembly is different (arggg mad.gif )...so i put it allll back together and called it a day....on the bright side I wasn't left with any extra/missing screws and I learned how the shifting mechanism works....sigh....

Any suggestions for short shifters for JDM GT-Fours?

I think thats an issue with all RHD celicas not just the GT-Four. Buy the proper 6GC (ST20#) TRD shifter unit?

http://trdparts.jp/english/parts_quickshift.html
ST20# All year 33530-ST000 F 26, 000 Shift knob (2) included

I have a 7th gen kit for my RHD Celica, but I haven't installed it yet. Apparently they do work on RHD according to this earlier post:

just posting to confirm that 7th gen short shifters DO fit on RHD celi's

fitted it yesterday smile.gif

reduces it quite a bit and stiffens it up even more...

love it

Jesus, how did you do it that fast? It took me forever, then when I finally got it in, the big pin didn't stick out enough for the lock washer to stay in place, so I had to re-install the OEM one.

Need another what? I figured it was just the spring at an odd angle. I pushed with all my might, but the pin wouldn't come out enough. I'm gonna pick up a spare shift assembly and install the 7gc shifter on that, since I'll have copious amounts of room to work with, then I'll install the whole piece.
