I just got my jdm tail lights from the mail.
I'm getting them on at the moment but I thought they had the same bulbs and wires. There are 5 bulbs on usdm tails and 4 on the jdm ones. So I guess I have to change the wiring of my usdm and use the Jdm wires? But there's a small bushing that the wires go thought that's hard to get out so I was wondering if there's another alternative? Thanks |

You won't have to change your wiring/harness. you should have 4 plugs of the same size and 1 smaller.
Look carefully at your harness, follow your wiring...1 can't fit in a hole that wasn't designed for, the screws are different: 3 or 4 pins with smaller or bigger sides...and if you have 1 extra, doesn't have to be connected, just leave it...But if you miss one ( my guess would be the small one) you need to change your harness, but the small one is only for the USDM light. A little detail, you know that in Quebec, the law requires you to have a RED deflector on every tail lights... SO if you're trying to install these: http://www.sunrisejdmmotors.com/images/par...tHqR1tyZ8wY.jpg or those: http://admin.rpmgarage.com/resize.php?pic=...pg&size=280 You're not in law...500$ fine if you get caught with them... |

I have 5 plugs 4 of the same size and a smaller one. But on the JDM tails (The second model/link you showed me) there are 4 of the same size, that's it.
Never heard of this law here. A guy on here has the Jdm ones and he never told me he got caught. Though I guess cops don't pay attention to this carefully. Also, I don't see the difference between the 1st model you showed me and the usdm ones. |

The difference with the JDM and USDM is the red reflector on the corner of the light, which is orange on the JDM.
My friend got caught one for this...500$...trust me they do, the day your friend will get pulled over and be asked for an inspection, he might have to change his lights to USDM ones if they exist... back on topic... So if you don't have the small one...no need to worry about it, just fill the holes you have on your tails and hide the others...or is it because you don't know which one goes in which ? |

I heard of this law, but just look at a mitsubishi lancer for example, there is no red deflector at the same angle as for the 6 gen (so that is totally pointless)... I can't see why i'd get pulled over for an inspection, and I'm pretty sure cops don't know about these unless they search for this information, so just don't give them a reason to pull you over.. And JP, your lights came without the bulbs or wiring? mine came with the plug hanging out and it was a simple plug and play...

I heard of it too, and I can't find it on the internet...still, even cops I work with told me about it. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk, + I find the USDM to fit better with my white gt4... Let's stay on topic now... Even if the lights didn't came with the wiring, it's no big deal finding where they go...no bulbs, just go to an autopart, you'll get them for less than 5 bucks. And remember that you have 2 types of bulbs that goes in there... |

I forgot, if you can't find where to fit them, make sure all bulbs are working ( AMP tester) then once this is done, turn on your car to accessories, put on your hazards...you'll know which light is the flasher...connect it in the flasher hole...if it's the wrong hole, you won't be able to screw the light into the light socket. Then ask someone to press brakes for you...
If you can't do it really, tell me by PM where you live and we can meet somewhere and I'll do it for you |

Thanks guys, I just switched to the JDM wiring. It was very simple hehe.
It's JG Btw And ya, it came with both, bulbs and wiring. Mais, tu t'es jamais fait coller pour ca? The difference with the JDM and USDM is the red reflector on the corner of the light, which is orange on the JDM. My friend got caught one for this...500$...trust me they do, the day your friend will get pulled over and be asked for an inspection, he might have to change his lights to USDM ones if they exist... back on topic... So if you don't have the small one...no need to worry about it, just fill the holes you have on your tails and hide the others...or is it because you don't know which one goes in which ? Nah it was easy to see which one fits where. It's all good now, I took the jdm wiring. Didn't want a loose plug. Thanks! Just keep your factory tail lights incase you do.. I will keep em for sure This post has been edited by dudeofchaos: Apr 27, 2011 - 8:51 PM |

Of course it is I'm not a big manual myself and I could do it! So you could haha I know it's not hard, I just though ''how could I fit my 5 plugs in the jdm tails which contain 4 plug wholes only?'' lol The 5th light (it's the small one right?) is for the USDM lights, for the red corner, because the JDM ones is only a deflector) |
