Bouncing is messy. Slicing is clean.

^Agreed but I think the regulators are more interested in the pedestrians living through the accident than how clean it is. frown.gif

that whole hitting pedestrian exchange is so full of win it pushed the ft86 release date 3 months early lol

QUOTE (Neon90424 @ Apr 27, 2011 - 3:22 PM) *
EU regulations state that the hood must be a certain height so that pedestrians will bounce off the car rather than get sliced in half by this car

oh!!! makes sense!

hahaha... bye bye Celica. I knew they do this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4S1dEfzLTGU

Wow - I just fapped all over that rear diffuser... redface.gif

Upset that its not "Toyota" - but maybe now it'll be a little more affordable?

That is the question... I do not know how "expensive brand" Scion in US is. I can only share with experience here in Europe:

Toyota sell in Japan SUV called "Harrier". Exactly the same car is sold in Europe as Lexus but with name "RX". Only reason is Lexus is "luxury brand" and is acceptable to have higher price on it. I do not know how is that with Scion. Scion is not for sale in Europe at all so can not compare. However i bet FT-86 will be for sale in Europe as Lexus (Lexus F or Lexus FT) to squeeze more money from buyers frown.gif. So bye bye Celica... frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif

Sound clip...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oDT3dNDo2c...player_embedded

Interesting quote:
QUOTE
The sound should be the same or very similar for all 3 Scion FR-S / FT-86 cars since they all feature the same Boxer engine and exhaust setup.

Could this mean that there will be a Toyota FT-86, Scion FR-S, and Subaru... something or other?

It sounds really nice, but still a bit whiny since it's a stock setup.

New scion tC's cost about $18,500.

So car with power like ST202 has for half price (than ST202 was brand new 15years ago). Unbelievable...

I think cars are a lot cheaper over there Martin, EU will be ripped off like usual.

Unless there's a fast version, it won't affect me anyway.

japanese cars are priced similar in EU and USA, the difference is the interior quality, the Scion tC uses the cheapest plastic materials for the interior, where our cars have a more quality feel interior-wise.

I know the FT86 / FR-S will have that same cheap interior in order to compete with Huinday Genesis and possiblly the Nissan 370Z ( engine output pending ) and both of those cars have a mid to low grade interior so FR_S will get just that aswell, and I dont care, put a decent engine and I'm sold
