I'll see what I can do.
Raised the front end this morning. Fixed the mad caster on the front passenger wheel and got the wheel straightened out a bit. Turns out my car came from the dealer with a front bra - I found all of the snap buttons in the wheel well... and promptly removed them all. Caution: Annoying noise ahead. Adjust speakers accordingly.
So this started happening this morning while I was out and about. It's RPM dependent, but it doesn't affect power or anything. Once I get up in the RPMs it seems to go away, or quiet down. I was thinking maybe the alternator belt because its wet out today which it hasn't been since its been running. The only problem with that theory is that it doesn't sound like any wet or loose alternator belt I've ever heard. Ideas? Swiss, this is your fault. This is why we can't have nice things! -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Pulled the alternator belt and started it to see if it was the bearing in there, but the noise still exists. It sounds like a high pitch air leak.

Check that the timing belt or pulley isn't rubbing on a timing cover, sort of sounds like it could be.

Not the timing belt - its sitting fine on the cam gears, but it does sound like its coming from that side of the motor. Idk. This is a tad frustrating...

The idea of low coolant was brought up, but the coolant level is full.
I think I'm just going to take it back to my shop and let them tear into it. They have the tools and time to take care of it quickly. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Laid a bead of rtv around part of the panel and pressed it down with an xacto knife. I'm letting it dry now.

A couple local sites and Nos did a car show for the opening of Fast Five. They bought up all of the tickets to the last viewing and gave them away to hand-picked entries.
And the MR2 was one of three that was selected from NWAutoEvents.com Didn't get many pictures from the car show. I was walking around looking at all of the cars, and then it was dark Here is one that I did take of mine right after I pulled in and parked. I had the Cusco bar in the back, but it runs into the intake manifold, so no more rear strut bar. Yesterday I cleaned up the engine bay a bit and polished the coolant hard pipe. Check the previous picture for the before on that hard pipe. I also tracked the leak into my trunk to a bolt hole that wasn't sealed. I sealed it up and finally put the trunk back together. ECU is mounted up in the OEM spot, too. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Yep. It's ugly, but it stopped the vibration.... as much as it can. I mean, the car vibrates a bit from the poly mounts, but the horrible noise is gone.
