Hey guys, I have a 1995 Toyota Celica GT I'm in the proccesse of rebuilding my engine all new gastkets, seals, and bearings. Next on the list is the turbo, I've been doing homework for the past few weeks and it's come to my attention that I may and may not need a fuel management system for 8 pounds of boost. Do I need it or not? the cheapest system I found was 600$ rather not have it if I don't need it, any help?

You need a SAFC-II at the minimum. Also i suggest you keep reading because you are missing alot of parts on your list. such as BOV, Intercooler, Wideband to name a few. Adding Turbo is not cheap to do it right.

Get Smayy's, it's a tad bit on the expensive side, but it's literally everything that you'll need

AEM FI/C. It's a better unit than the SAFC. The FI/C allows for both fuel and timing adjustments. The SAFC only allows fuel.

The SAFC only allows fuel. biggest problem with those is setting them up properly exspect to pay about 500 just to tune it... unless u know what ur doin.... i have some parts for sale to help u out if u need aBOV,fuel injectors, external wastegate, let me know ill make u a deal on all three... |

my turbo kit is a complete kit. it performs much better than a CT26. im having a tuning issue on the ODBII GT. on an ODBI ST my kit works awesome with the SPlit second tuning.
if you want to use all 3S-GTE stuff you can use the Supra MKIII NA injectors and dont need any tuning at all. it just works. for your rebuild look at my threads, i have hundreds of pictures. -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo

Correct, you will have to spend some time on the dyno to get the FI/C tuned in right. Think of it this way, $500 for a day of dyno tuning is cheaper than blowing up the motor! If you're going to spend the money to turbo your car, spend the money and do it right the first time! -------------------- www.tweakdperformance.com

if you really are going to do it right, i suggest stand alone. the new AEM EMS 4 has a ton of promise and im going to get one to check it out. im startign to think the ODBII just will not cooperate with my FIC or the Split second. i havent messed with it for a while but in 3 weeks after i graduate, its game on.

A full EMS is a little overkill for 8psi. EMS's aren't really necessary unless going 450whp+ For that low of boost levels, a piggyback unit is juuuuust fine.
