I don't want to come off sounding like an ignorant person, but there are way too many "Projects" in the project section that are not projects...... I understand that people are excited to show the newest added components to their celicas, but those are not projects..... This is taking away from some of the best celicas i have seen.... I want to point out there are some seriously nice projects on that section. For example, LEDBOY's or CWALGA or PIPES....TRDGT4 and soooo many more. But, people are feeling as if they do not want to share anymore because that section is meant for PROJECTS..Again I really hope I am understood for this and not hated.....We are here to share info and receive info thanks to this community.

The project section is also a progression section to show the work you've done. Yes, an engine swap is a project, but to a beginner, just debadging the car or lowering it is a small project within it's self. It's not like there are so many pages on there either, it's about 2 pages long, don't see the big deal.

not a huge deal i mean i wont die if it doesnt change, but that is what all the other sections are for,.....when you put new seats in, the interior section.... a project shouldnt be your daily driven car...

Read what it says:
My Project New! Sixth gen. Celi build/progress threads go here But, people are feeling as if they do not want to share anymore because that section is meant for PROJECTS What? So because people are starting build threads, that aren't apparently up to standards in your opinion, others feel the need not to share? That makes no sense. naw man I know what you mean. For instance my project thread, is more like a progress thread. Since I didn't do the swap myself but actually bought the car like that. Its more of a progress thread for me as I like to show off (just as anybody else does) what I'm doing to the car. Its also my thread to discuss things about my car has not already been asked before on the forums. I've seen some members be like oh I debadged my car and I too say uhh ok great want a cookie, but at least we now have a separate thread for that.

it is being used for what its for.
if you spray painted the rims fuscia, thats progress. so any progress is good progress. if other members feel threatened, then they need to bump their threads so they dont get lost. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I think of it more as a progression thread than a project thread. Yes, some of the updates are pretty minor and don't really deserve mentioning, but if gives someone a bit of motivation then that's great.
Some of the most popular threads in that section aren't really "project cars". I mean, just putting on a body kit, new wheels, lowered suspension etc doesn't really make your car a project. But the owners enjoy posting the updates and people clearly enjoy reading about them, so what harm is done? Project or progression? Either way I think the section works well. -------------------- |

yes I guess progress threads defeat the purpose of 6gc meets hehe. jk jk I don't have anything against them. Although I was getting a bit annoyed when new members would start posting who they were and what country they were from every other day, but then came the idea of the project thread and now it doesn't even bother me anymore.

What happen was, a few of us started our project threads (or what ever you want to call them) in the general discussion section and a few else where aswell. Then more people started posting up their own threads, this resulted in the general discussion section becoming a mess.
admin/mods talked stuff happen And we ended up with a project thread and a tidier general discussion section. (And anyones thread thats not in the project section, can simply pm a mod and we'll move it over) -------------------- |
