I know about that but honestly I kind of just like the controller
 although don't get me wrong that thing is definitely badass and I'd get one if I had money to burn.

The cars available on the lot keep changing as you progress. Go win more races instead of just trying to buy cars  .

I'm surprised you think that way, I'm still playing. It's not great in parts, i.e. ****ty standard models...but where it's good, it's good. I don't think Gran Turismo can be beat for sheer rubber-on-tarmac feeling.
