could be anything, description is a bit vague.
Does it sound like a deep clunk kind of rattle, or rattle like a loost bolt, a thin steel lind of rattle? -------------------- ST205 Group A Rallye GT-Four, #61 of 77............600hp GT3582r

Could you describe it a bit more?

I had a similar noise and it was the brake hose metal end rubbing against the body brake line bracket because my brake hose clip feel off ordered a new one from toyota and clipped it on and the sound disappeared but then theirs a lot of things in the rear that can cause the metal against metal rubbing noise mounts, shocks, worn bellows/bumpstops, worn bushings, sway bar ends/bushings, etc...

Tinny metal rattle makes me think thin metal -- which makes me think e-brake backing plate. Specifically, the shoe rattling against the backing plate because one of the hold-down springs is loose. Either a weak spring, or the pin which holds the spring compressed has straightened.

Don't mean to jack anything but how do you check for bad strut, seal ect? Look for oil around the base of the strut. Also you'd probably hear a clunk. And i the strut is really bad, your car would be very bouncy after hitting a bump. If the strut is off the car and you push the shaft down, and it does not return to the original position, its time to replace -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |
