Hi, I just installed a Bulldog keyless entry system on my celica (and thank you to the guy who posted how to do it!). It came with an additional starter immobilizer relay an I'm still hesitating to install it because to me, if someone gets in your car without the car key, he has to hot wire the car. So why bother?
Has anyone used this relay to hook up the parklights instead or do you need a different one made especially for this purpose? |

if you install the inmobilizer properly, they won't be able to hot wire the car.
here is a little example I had an autopage alarm system in my car, during my swap I disconnected the system and didn't hook it back up afterwrads, but I didn't remove the starter kill switch wiring, a few months later, something shorted a activated the kill swithch, car wouldn't start with the key, so I try to hot wire, it still wouldn't start, so I went and try to feed power direcltly to the starter, it still wouldn't start, after a lot of troubleshooting, we realize what was the problem, disconnected the relayt, splice the proper wires back together and turned the key. so just do it the right way and the car won't start. -------------------- |
