Did you cut right through into your trunk? Like into the "cargo area" I guess you could call it.
No offence, but it looks as if you cut it with tin snips..

Its coming together though, looks pretty good.

I like the flow of the car since you put the supra skirts on, it kind of matches the rear of the car now so it doesn't look so awkward. it's coming out great man! i think you should try to do a custom front end cause the invader piece just doesn't flow as well IMO.

haha you should try it smile.gif it is alot of work, but its not really hard work, just time consuming. Wish I had more time to work on it, i think its going pretty slow imo lol

I might go for the trd spoiler, cause it has more "curves". But not a priority now, need to finish this and make it 3s powered smile.gif

hahahaah i was wondering if someone would catch that i snipped the trunk away with tip snips. My grinder wheel wouldnt fit in far enough, and I couldnt have all the vibration from a sawsall. And since i had no other options I sat there and snipped it all away lmao, took forever
And I do want to do a front conversion, just thats alot more expensive with the hood, fenders (maybe), lights, front bumper. It will come after the 3s is complete, as Ill need the front off to work on it, and if its molded, its a bitch to get off lolif not impossible

NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW NWE

Ok so I added a third, and hopefully final layer of fiberglass. Its pretty much rock solid, but I may add a final coat at the end for good measure.
After the third layer of glass, i bondoed over everything as there were small divets and uneven parts, and its finally really smooth. Still needs a layer or two over that, and the glazing layers. Just to get it 100% smooth, with no imperfections.
I fixed the drivers light, or at least tried to. It looks fine to the eye now.
Only big thing left to do is the bottoms of the sides that I added, as its really hard to get a good shape upside down, cause gravity has its way with fiberglass and bondo. If anyone has any suggestions id like to hear them, if you get what im trying to do.
Anyway a few pics. Just Before sanding bondo and after

I look at this picture and think... "why?"

The standard rear looks so good! smile.gif

But even though the Supra rear is not my cup of tea, I must give you respect for having a crack at this and making it work. I'm sure it will look great once it's finished and painted. Well done.

Only thing i dont like is the bottom part of the bumper where there are spots for the tow hooks. I would remove that section completely it making the ass way too big in comparison to the rest of the celica.

Besides that, its looking smashing.

comming along good, but i would change the type of filler your using, as bondo dont have much flex to it and can crack, then ruin the paint and effort you put into it, i may seem like a spammer but really check out fiberglassforums.com they have some great info on this very sort of stuff....good luck and cant wait to see it done! it really is looking good, just dont want you to have it look fantastic then first drive you take at 60mph cracks the filler....

this is awesome dude is coming along great to be honest there really isnt much that i could say about bondo but in a shop i go to they sell body work stuff and one of the best thing they sell is a product called tiger hair check in one of your local shops they might sell it. the thing for body work its great i used it before and to be honest its way more better then bondo alone great for paint and it last twice as long. good luck anyway cant wait till is finaly finished

thanks everyone smile.gif
I plan on at least cutting the tow hooks off so its even underneath and if it still looks bad i can cut it right off.
As far as kitty hair, i though that was just fiberglass matting? I used 2 layers of that and a layer of fiberglass cloth over it. But ill take a look at that site later.
I used bondo over fiberglass on my sideskirts and old rear, and its been fine for a year + i paint my own car so re spaying a crack would take me 10 mins

^^ Used to be a doctor's office.

I'm not really a fan of trying to make one car look like another. Although the Supra and Celica have a similar shape, the Supra is a bigger car and the size of the lights reflects that. And "similar shape" doesn't mean "same shape."

See how the trunk lid is a lot bigger and the lights are spaced a little further apart? That's what makes the rear of that car work as well as it does and a Celica just can't get that. However, I'm not making this post to be a jerk and put down your work. I really didn't like the way the Supra side skirts went on the car at all, but you're doing a great job with this. I totally respect the amount of time and work you're putting into the car. I completely agree with what Rico said, about how the rear bumper is too big for the car and how it needs to be cut off. My only suggestion would be for the 3rd brake light. I say go with a Supra 3rd brake light as well, rather than the Celica 3rd brake light. The Supra's light is wider than the Celica.

Also, are you moving your exhaust to the driver's side to match the Supra or notching out the passenger side of the bumper?

First thanks again to everyone. i know its not everyones preference, and you may even hate it but i do appreciate everyones respect for the crazy amount of work thats involved (that I really dont have any experience in) smile.gif

Im thinking ill just have the exhaust out the drivers side, like in the picture you posted, since ill be going with a new 3" exhaust with the 3s eventually.

The lights are still the same distance apart though, I never cut into the middle of the supra bumper. And the supra rear is smaller than the celica. The "wheel well bumps" (not sure what to cell that body line) may be a little bigger on the supra, but the actual rear is bigger on the celica.

And thanks for the supra third brake light Idea, I honestly never even thought of it, but It would definitely finish the look. Ill look into buying one next week.

And for what S8S8 said. i agree the stock rear is awesome, especially with jdm tails. But I already have that with my DD. I like doing things out of the ordinary

It looks to me like the bumper you have hangs lower than the bumper in the picture I posted. If you shave yours right there, I think it'd look alright. The trunk lid of the Supra sits up a lot higher from the tail lights than the Celica trunk lid, so the 3rd brake light idea might be a terrible idea. I just like how it's wider than the Celica 3rd brake light so in my mind, it'll flow better with the wider tail lights. I'm really not a fan of trying to make a Celica look like a Supra, but you're doing some pretty good work and I definitely respect that. Besides, you've got the red Celica with the JDM tails and SS-III splitters, so why not do something different with the orange one? No point in making the two look exactly alike.

Yeah I was going to put the 3s in the new celica I bought, and do all the exterior mods (never expected to buy the second car for so cheap). Until bought tinas celica (Iluvmyceli95), and its already really nice, so why ruin it. And like he said, why build two up the same? the one is 'jdm' and "nice" looking, while the other is alot more "aggressive".
Yeah i see what you mean by the bottom, its just cause mine is an after market bumper, and its hitting on the tow hooks. If I can get the tow hooks out, it will "fall back" alot more. And i can also raise it up and attach it to the spare wheel well, so its up higher..... not sure if that made any sense.
But if it ends up being still too much, I can shave it down easy.
And thanks for the props from everyone, I got a good second layer of bondo on today (they are only like 1/8" layers, nothign crazy I do know it can crack if theres alot) But I am helping my friend put his front bumper back together after he hit a curb lol, So I have to wait a bit to do anything.

NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW

I got quite a bit of work done today. Although it was alot of tedious shaving away tiny bits to get a perfect fit, so it may look like not much got done.
Also realized the drivers side light doesnt have the weather stripping that the passengers side does so the fitment is alot harder. But the passengers side is 90% done now, actually amazed by how close I got it pretty easily

Decided to fill in under the lights at a slope, instead of just right under it with the fiberglass.

Put the light in, and started filling in the very edges, to get a better fit

Got the lights out and back in, also got the pass side very close to done.

Drivers side, still needs alot of work, and its not completely dry yet. I needed it to be a little tacky still to get easy cuts
