Shopping around for some race seats and I was wondering what you guys would recommend as far as brand and comfort.
Part of me wants to go with sparco just for the name, but then again other than Corbeau and Vulture I'm not too familiar with any other brands. Recommendations? -------------------- HONDA

Recaro and Bride are good brands, plus they make a good range of seats. Be prepared to pay 1k+ per seat though.

sparco makes awesome seats and they have a good variety of styles. i don't recommend a true 1 piece bucket seat for your daily driver as you'll hate it over time.

I'm in the same situation.
Anyone have a opinion on the megan street racing seats the look pretty good and comfy and they don't break bank. can't find it there DOT approved or not though. also considering getting some lightly used evo seats (as long as they don't really show any wear) -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

i personally dont want any ebay "_______ Style" seats i mean you have no idea how safe they are in a crash or accident there not DOT approved or who knows if they've even been crash tested. im willing to pay more for my safety thats not somewhere i would cut corners. im NOT knocking on anyone else for buying those but i personally wouldn't. also the quality how fast they wear out and how comfortable they are are important. the reason i was considering megan is cuz there pretty name brandish as far as car part (i got a megan radiator for 2 yrs and its held up great)

as far as safety comes...I'd worry more about the seatbelts than the seat

well ive check a couple of ebay style racing seats review general consensus they wear out very quickly the foam comfort and any other part quick look around an found these quotes on other forums
"Ive had two sets of 'ebay' seats, and they BOTH broke on me, the adjustment for the back stripped and the seat would lean foward or back on its own, making it impossible to drive. They are not very sturdy and will probably not hold up very well in an accident." - honda forum "Now, less than 1 year later, the fabric around the 4pt harness holes is starting to stretch away revealing the white backing... and really pissing me off. Also, the left side of the seat that I kinda sit on to get in is wearing down really bad." mustang forum i did see some good good reviews about there cheap and work but big issue is they don't bolt right with brackets and such i mean i just would get something approved myself i do agree about the seat belt thing but look at crash test of seats http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2515624 see there are differences in seats im just saying i hope i never get into an accident but if i ever do i want my chances of survival to be as high as possible. -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

Recaro Speed or SRD are great options. They will run about $500 a seat in good used condition or about $800-$900 new. The good thing about them is they were used in jdm integras so they are available at most importers. You can buy corbeau's seat mounts and rails for $100 ea and it makes for a simple install. If you want a more relaxed fitting seat (daily driver) the Recaro Sportline is my recommendation. They will run a little more than the Speed but you can find a set out of an evo 9 for about $1000. The evo 8 seats are also sportlines but they used a very cheap blue textured cloth insert that ruins the style of the seat. The evo 9 seats were available in leather or black suede, both look amazing. When it comes to a seat you want quality because in case of an accident it is your only spinal support.
