I've got a new header and downpipe for my 7afe but the header has the boss for an O2 sensor my car doesn't have. Is it ok to move the one from the old downpipe to the header?
Need some help its my first car and have no experience with anything other then electrics yet |

The 7afe has the exhaust O2 sensor, it's generally called "lambda"
Search HERE for part 17410, scroll down the pipe to right you will notice a strange flange, here's your O2 sensor. If you look in the engine bay search for the exhaust pipe you can see from between the firewall and intake plenum. I don't know how to explain better xD -------------------- Black Celica Carlos Sainz, ST spoiler, 15'' tsw rims, Magnaflow exhaust from Italy

And this is the one on the car The new one has the boss for the lambda sensor and the old one doesn't however there is another sensor on the downpipe further down can I just swap the sensor locations? |

Uhmmm there's a reason (I believe) someone has placed there the O2 sensor there.
I believe in that position the sensor could get too hot and die prematurely. I'd listen to someone else's opinion about.. -------------------- Black Celica Carlos Sainz, ST spoiler, 15'' tsw rims, Magnaflow exhaust from Italy

The only real issue with having the O2 sensor where it is pictured on the aftermarket header is that it will only read issues present in the one cylinder. The stock O2 sensor is placed in the lower pipe in order to read the exhaust flow from all cylinders.
The whole point of the sensor is to give the ECU the information it needs to maintain the engine in good running condition. Using the sensor in just one runner of a manifold means you're not giving it 75% of the information it should receive. |

The original O2 stays there for a reason, surely you wont get hurt placing him in the same place
Just plug the hole of the new header. -------------------- Black Celica Carlos Sainz, ST spoiler, 15'' tsw rims, Magnaflow exhaust from Italy
