Well when i attempted to smog i couldnt even get a fail as i had to much o2 coming out. Heres why:

At least SOME good things happened today:

So now i get the pleasure of spending 250$ to get new cats welded in, then 80$ to smog the damn thing and HOPEFULLY pass. Then i get to rip it allll off again and ill be right back where i am now..Gotta love CA kindasad.gif

Well the car got a passed smog sheet and is now registered biggrin.gif. Ordered new intake manifold and throttle body gaskets, and a new CPS cover from partznet on here(was cheaper than ALL the supra vendors, go figure). Next step is the sound system, sadly the supra isnt equipped with the stock sound system like the celica, its rocking 1980s 4.5"s all around X.X. So ill be upgrading all 6 to infinity refs, along with a new single din deck with USB port, and finally over 600watts RMS is sub(s) in a ported box. Stay turned smile.gif

i'm lucky we dont even do emissions on 95 n older. They don't even stick a sniffer in the tail pipe anymore, just check for codes.

Well its been about 2 months of driving and the car is still going strong! Of course, being a mk3, the hood is open at least once a week for some stupid little issue but overall the car has been good. The 3.5" exhaust still isnt on, but with gutted cats a and upped PSI the car pulls like hell.

Sadly I already want to upgrade. So the major upgrades are stopping and MKIV saving begins smile.gif.

Yea I'm going to be shooting for a targa NA for under 10 grand. Then hopefully pick up a vvti GTTE from my importer and put that in afterwards(I really dislike NA lol). The reason i'm already done with the mk3 is that I don't like having the thought in the back of my mind of "what is going to break", i wanna be able to go get in my car and just DRIVE. As well as I LOVE the mk4 as its the mix between the 6gc look and the mk3s fury. I had ideas of getting an older impreza and putting a newer STIs heart in it, but after getting the truck, i have no need for awd in the snow.

its GTE not GTTE, you already come off as a newb! and why on earth would you install the VVT 2JZ-GTE? again another NEWB move!! the VVT engine is not as strong at the legacy ones. plus there is so much more wiring involved. if you are going to get an NA supra, just boost the NA engine. its so much cheaper and still very reliable! but hey spend 10,000 bucks when you dont have to

Smaay, I've been told the NA block is actually better for boosting. Something about oil squirters. Any truth to that?

I agree with the opinion that an NA Supra is just for looks. That's all my IS is good for. The NA 2JZ is just any other 220hp 6 cylinder. It's nothing special. But buying an NA auto mkIV is the way to go. They're so much cheaper.

It has 2 turbos right jeff? wink.gif jk And please read:
http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthrea...ion-information

People seem to think the vvti is inferior, therefor instead of actually researching people just jump on the bandwagon and dont care. When in reality the VVTI is just as strong and has a much better powerband. Plus my importer gets vvtis and I can get the full swap for 2500, so im thinking roughly 4 grand in and running.

Idk if its BETTER richee, but with a TT hg it is fine for boosting, and has a higher comp ratio allowing you to run e85. But i want the vvti for the future wink.gif.

Decided since it ill be a few years before I will have enough money to afford a mk4 I should continue to upgrade the mk3..So tomorrow some exterior changes will be enacted. Really Important Mk3 Shit will be occuring.

Oh and one of these:
