the rear ends going to kill it for me. We know the front will some sort stay like the concept, but if the rear looks too scion TCish, I'll pass. If more like the LFA I'll be buying it. I would expect it to look more like the original FT-86 concept. It seems plausible and less extravagant. -------------------- '99 Celica GT - Sold

I see they're sticking more and more junk to the front end
Less is more. If this thing doesn't do 0-60 in less than 6 seconds, i'm out. You can't have a car that looks like that, and isn't even a bit fast... -------------------- |

If you read from past posts, fast is not what they are aiming at. Lightweight and handling is what this car is built for. Car looks amazing as is.

From the link he posted a few posts above.
I'm still not won over by the styling nor by the performance aspect. It's all nice, but I'll be pretty hard-pressed to get rid of my IS 300 for one. And that's saying a lot because I'm not particularly fond of my IS. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. I'll be buying one simply because DD'ing the MR2 isn't very economical. This car is targeted to be in my price range and it won't be the size of a boat. I can still have fun with it.

Would prefer a hatchback vs a coupe, but it doesn't look too bad IMO.
Really anxious to see the final body style they go with. -------------------- |

haha funny rant by that guy who posted it. I wish the 2nd gen concept was the same color. It's hard to see some of the differences in body lines with that black ft-86. Ya they should keep the front end like the first concept and remove those hideous leds. The need the engineer designers from the 90's to have a say on the design.

yeah, i agree with him too. especially on the rear. I loved the all red tails and then they made them look like altezzas???
headlights in the 1st concept was super sexy too. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

The shot of the camo car Briinums posted is the final version of the FT-86 just clad in padding and camo; the taillights look NOTHING like any of the concepts and the LEDs are in the headlight enclosure not mounted like on the second concept.
While that guy's post is pretty hilarious he's off the mark on much of the car's aesthetics. Come early December I think you guys will be impressed...well, mildly positive since it's near impossible to satisfy the 6gc crowd's discerning tastes. i find it funny how they talk about engine made by subaru having such a low center of gravity. Look at the fastest car around Tsukuba Time Attack : Evo 8.
New Evo 10 vs the New STI which ones is faster on the streets Evo!! Evo has a higher center of gravity right haha ya that didn't really attribute that much to the cars handling. Subaru's are faster on the dirt. -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts
