Folks... first of all: Just for your information. I have talked to Tufy's sister few days ago and she told me he drives his celi only on races now. So only very uniquely you can see him driving his celi on public roads. So I was surprised... that means this ride was only for me and only because of me. So if you want to aim on someone here I am. I can guarantee Tufy is not an idiot and he would never drive his car dangerously. Now... I have question for all moralists here: Are German people idiots? On German public highways is no speed limit! I drove my celi there with speed about 220km/hr last year during on my way back home from PECM. Am I idiot as well? And I can tell you highway we drove on Cyprus is more save (better condition, less traffic) than during common day in Germany. So what is the difference? That day was very special for me and only thanks to Tufy's hospitality and Recycle's will to be my driver. And I do not want that anyone would make Tufy feel bad because of that. This topic is only about to share... If you do not like it please do not post here. thanks... Hi Martin, i'm not trying to make anyone feel bad, just felt as a moderator here i should say something. I know Tufy is a great driver and was driving within his limits, but to answer your question, the difference between that road and Germany: On the Autobahn, the other drivers expect you to be driving that fast, on a normal highway... they don't. It's more the uncontrollable factors that are the danger: other drivers reactions, a mechanical failure, or an object on the road that can easily cause massive problems at that speed. But anyway, thanks for sharing the video, i just want what is imo the best celica in the world, and it's driver to stay in one piece -------------------- |

just to make this clear.
yes, tufy is special. the dude has built by FAR one of the nicest celicas any of us will ever have the pleasure of seeing in action. a bit of a "star" if i do say so myself. (ive had random people, not accosiated with the site in anyway, ask me if ive ever seen the vid of "this crazyyyy celica beating a supra") so yea, we're NOT closing tufy's thread. and yea. we WILL close anyone elses, so dont do it. when you build a celica, that is pretty much known world wide, THEN we can talk about it. /disscussion. ohh and: tufy: simply AMAZING car man. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Boost really seems to hit harder once the surging stops. What was your best 1/4mile in the car so far? It as to at least be mid 11s? my fastest time was 10.47 while i was racing against an ariel atom at dragster 2 years ago. my car is mapped at 2 bars now but i am still driving it at 1.5 bars boost. i still have some small proplems (sequential shifter and that surge ect) with my car. if you noticed i skipped 4th gear in video. i hope to fix them soon, then lets see what happens at 2 bars thanks a lot presure2 This post has been edited by tufy: Jun 21, 2008 - 11:56 AM -------------------- |

I know I'm bumping a 3+ year old topic here guys, and for that I am sorry... but does anyone know where I can see the video linked in the first post of this thread? Or what the password for the album on photobucket is? I think I've seen this video before (on Youtube?) but I wanted to have a look at it again. Is this the video where Tufy talks about the top speed being limited by the drag set up gearbox?
Thanks in advance and sorry again for necro-bumping this |

Thanks for the link. I have seen all of the ones that are on Youtube, but this one as far as I can remember the one linked in this thread which is now passworded was all or mostly in-car footage of Tufy's car pulling to top speed (173-4 mph) and Tufy mentioning something about the dog box with short ratios restricting his top speed to that. It's a 3 year old album, so obviously malpaso has put a password on it since this was posted. Was just wondering if he would let us have a little peek at it again This post has been edited by Unicorn: Sep 16, 2011 - 2:37 AM |

I wonder if a little PM to Tufy requesting a re-upload would be worthwhile? I really want to see it! |
