Has anyone had issue with the st205 hood latch not locking into place ? I know that the latch seat where the oem bolts hole from the original latch. The issue is that i can't get the latch to lock the hood down with the frame of the front end in the US it only click with the latch hook. Is there a bracket that i need to make in order for it to work?
Any suggestions.... Thanks This post has been edited by DZracer978: Oct 27, 2011 - 8:56 PM |

push it harder x 2 with a GT4 hood it takes a little bit more than with your OEM hood to close it, just either push it harder or drop it from higher like I did lol. -------------------- |

Dropping the aluminum hood is sketch to me, it's too light. I hate when I close the hood and it leaves handprints from having to push it. -------------------- 2006 BMW 330i - 6 Speed - Dinan Stage 1

you would hate to see me closing my hood.
it's a rally car, I highly doubt toyota designed it to my lightly massaged in place, I have dropped mine since day one, and no issues, pushing it concentrates the force in one spot increasing the chace of leaving a print on the alluminum rather than dropping the whole thing. -------------------- |

I haven't tried dropping my gt-4 hood. It's too light for that. I do it only on the stock hood!

Thanks all of you for your input. But I think dropping the hood is not the best way for me. I been trying to align it right and its fine, by looking at the space between the locking latch and the hood hook itself, there are about 0.750 inches from each other. I'm think about making a bracket to make this work. I want it to seat it down perfectly.......

I DONT KNO IF THIS IS ANY HELP TO YOU GUYS AND GIRLS THAT READING THIS. I HAD A SUCCESS ON MAKING BRACKETS THAT ONLY TAKES LESS THAN 30 MINUTES TO MOVE THE LATCH UP-WARD USING THE ORIGINAL HOOD LATCH WITHOUT HAVING TO CUT OR WELD THE ORINIGAL LATCH ITSELF.........

To OP try adjusting the rubber bumpers down, I drop mine from about 8 inches up and it closes perfect with no, or very little play when latched. some sort of bracket would have to be small, aka weak to fit in the space you have for the safety catch, I made a new catch so it would only have to be welded in one spot. -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.
