i'm guessing the subaru is better on the dirt because of its kick ass symmetricalbuttcrackdrive and as to lower center of gravity the engine might sit lower but it is physically huge

That's not huge. Cut your motor in between cylinders 2 and 3 and stick the oil pan portions together. That's going to be a lot bigger than a Subaru motor.

seems much larger to me, also having to use 2 exhaust and intake manifolds etc a boxer engine bay seems more crowded than a mall at christmas

Scion FRS, very similar, why would tyota produce two cars in the US?

toyota is now 3 divisions.
lexus now markets luxury cars and sports vehicles. scion is the brand for the younger crowd toyota brand is now for econobox appliances. (surprised you cant buy a toyota at home depot yet) they will not have the toyota ft86 compete over the scion frs. same way the tc killed the celica. mos likely its a scion what we will get soon. Scion FRS is the FT86. All of these concepts are the SAME car underneath - just different panels outside.
In the US we'll have a choice of the Scion FR-S or the Subaru BRZ while the rest of the world will get the choice of the Toyota FT-86 or the Subaru BRZ; the Scion and Toyota will be the exact same car just with different badges and the Subaru will be identical to the Toyotas except for different front/rear fascia and badges...and possibly higher level quality interior. So, in a nutshell: Toyota FT86 = Scion FRS = Subaru BRZ. -------------------- Has no more Celicas

I would continue to be bothered by Toyota's stupid decision to market this as a Scion, but there's a good chance I'll be able to buy a Toyota FT-86 when I'm in the position to buy a newer vehicle.

Toyota will be campaigning an FT-86 at VLN this Saturday:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1976 Must say...this car, if it retains the majority of the race car's lines, is sexy as all h*ll. Can not wait to drive one. -------------------- Has no more Celicas

And the brochure was leaked:
Im liking the FD style interior, but it looks like a 370z and wrx gang raped a TC on the outside . This post has been edited by SupraKid: Oct 27, 2011 - 10:50 AM |

that's a brochure for some kind of bodykit. i'd like to see the stock body. right now, it looks ok. not as good as i envisioned. overall, everything i've read has reminded me of a celica!

It's also for the interior because Modellista does the interior modifications for the Vitz (US model Yaris), and Prius in Japan.
