Glad they finally arrived; it was beginning to wonder if that deal really was too good to be true.
Looking forward to seeing them on the BEAMS. -------------------- Has no more Celicas

I'm glad they made it too. It took over a month and an eBay claim to get them here, but I got them for $460 shipped. Steal or steal?
Noberto, I picked up some H1 HID bulbs for when I put the lights in so I don't have to cut into my factory wiring. Leave my ballast plugged into the 9006 plug, plug my H1's into the ballast, call it done. I have H1 bulbs and pigtails with the lights, but I'm going to avoid opening them up if I don't have to. But with HID's, we'll probably have to open them up. Did you mod yours for LHD? More big updates coming soon. More than just the projectors and GT4 front end. That's the beam pattern of the projectors, for future reference for anyone who is unfamiliar with the LHD conversion. As you can see, the lights will be shining directly into the eyes of oncoming traffic. I've seen several posts from several members saying they went with regular bulbs and oncoming traffic never flashed them, and a few even saying it doesn't matter with HID's. To be responsible, everyone should do the mod. However, as expensive as these things are to replace, I'm thinking we're going to put them on the car and see how the beams look and give them a test run and if it doesn't work out, I'll open them up and do the LHD mod. I did not convert mine for a few reasons. My car is lowered. Everyone elses lowbeams are highbeams in my face. The lights are so low to the ground they don't get in anyone's face. And I wasn't willing to take apart the 800 dollars I spent on them to fix it, with the chance of damaging them. I look at it this way, when people can learn to turn off their highbeams, or stop running these ridiculously blinding (Lows & Highs) HIDs. Then I'll adjust mine to not hit the 2% of people I see at night driving a simliar lowered vehicle. Though I respect where you are coming from... is there not enough lateral adjustment in the lights to direct them to the right? I mean, I don't know how these lights work, or if there is any adjustment at all, But as far as I've moved my lights at times and seeing how the beams get affected, you would think there would be able room to shift these bad boys over..... thats a shame you have to take apart something so expensive

since I have the car now for 6 months with the white hid's in them. I've only been flashed about 2 or 3 times. It only blinds oncoming traffic when you about 50 feet from them. By that time they don't even have enough reaction time to flash you. yes the cut off goes much higher than that. I didnt convert mine because I bought mine new from the dealer. Also because I hate the fact that trucks blind you, especially the ones with hid headlights and foglights

The last two posts = pure win.
I did not convert the headlights for LHD. Like 95% of the rest of 6gc with projectors, I didn't just spend that much money so I can tear it up. I might still open them up later.. Depends on how we feel about them. Anyway, moving on: The insidey parts of my Greytop! As you can see, it's mostly clean, except for that crap where the oil flows into the head. No idea what that crud is, but I don't like it. At any rate, I'm still working on tearing the head down to find the VVT filter. I don't care about the VVT filter on the Greytop, I'm just trying to get ahead if I ever decide to take the Redtop apart. That way I will know where the filter is. I'm about halfway through, but I put that project aside last night for this: Murrka: Whurr Chevy runs deep! Fortunately, the girl somehow gets drunk when a camera hits her hands and magically sobers up as soon as the camera leaves her hands, so this is the only picture of me working on the car and fortunately for you guys, it's blurry: She did about 90% of the install, I did 100% of the complaining. Then instead of taking pictures or being fascinated or any of the usual stuff that people do after modifying their cars, we went to bed. No lie. "Wow, projecto- zzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzzz." Just like that. Better pictures coming this evening, but they won't be anything special. We all know what a black Celica with projectors look like, but I'll post them up in a "Look what I did! I spent my money!" way. You haven't even begun to see the camo on the truck. It's everywhere. Even inside. It's not lifted though and barely fits in my garage as is. It's a mile long. But the other half of the garage is a mess of Celica parts and storage space for the IS.

Ferdi- honest truth. Sleepytimes. Brigette and I are about 72 years old. We go to bed at 8... No lie.
Rave- thanks! Do USDM cars fitted with stock projectors/hids have the beams cut off on the opposite side of these rhd projectors?
I've driven a new g37x, and it seemed that the cut off line was completely level. Is that just because its new technology or...? -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

Our Camry is the same way- the cutoff is level. I assume it's done that way so the same lights can be sold in any country without having to modify anything. But since the JDM projectors were only sold in Japan, the cutoff is there and it's pretty noticeable. I got my HID's in the projectors tonight... I get the feeling I'll be meeting some displeased motorists. I'll give it a few night drives to find out though. I'm still not in love with the idea of opening these up.
