Hey all. Some of you may have noticed or remember me posting a similar thread last december after a few months hiatus. Well, I had some things go awry last year, and ended up pretty much unavailable for everything until just recently. So now I'm back in the saddle again, for good this time.

The car is ok. She sat for the past 10 months due to running issues and a move halfway across the country. Now residing in Waynesboro PA out by Gettysburg, so you Philly peeps expect to see me at a meet or three. The bumper got repainted from the bump accident in January, but during the move process, one of the front splitters took a NASTY rock hit and it took a chunk out along with some paint, so it looks like hell. And, the person who's house the car was at for a few months let a freaking piece of plywood hit the fender, so there's a NICE scratch on the fender now that I'm all kinds of pissed about (this same person banged up my huge intercooler on my Trans Am when he was loading it on a trailer due to complete carelessness). And, the car is giving me hell running, or rather not running. It's acting like it's got a HUGE air leak, but I verified that's NOT the case today, so now I'm moving to the fuel pump or the ECT circuit.........anyway.

To all you I know, hope you're doing well, and I hope to be on here and participating a lot more frequently now. I'm in a new area now too with LOTS of places for good photos too, so expect to see those.......

Make sure you have good fuel in it. I let mine sit for a few months, and it's been running like hell. So far I have it running decent after new plugs and a few gallons of fresh fuel. This 10% ethanol they are putting in fuel now does not last.

Yup. It's a custom job (ok, not really custom, just modular pieces I put together in a non-specific way....lol) that I pieced together on Sunday for my car. It's installed right now actually. After extending the AFM wiring harness, the AFM is now under the battery and the big air filter is in the inner fender.....good old true CAI at it's finest.

I don't think it's a gas quality issue because the running problem manifested itself several months ago on the highway as a surge/stutter. According to my wife (I wasn't around the past few months) it got progressive worse and worse until it couldn't be driven home from the paint shop getting the nose redone. I just went out to it and keyed it on a couple of times and the pump wasn't priming at all that I could hear, and it BARELY held an idle, and if I revved it, it would only get to about 1500 RPM if that before coughing, and when I let off the gas it immediately stalled. Thinking the pumps out.

*Edit* Yup, no fuel. I jumped the FP to B port on the Diagnostic port in the engine bay and zero zip nada.....nothing at all. No noise, no fuel flow, nothing. Doesn't even prime when I key on (can't hear it at all). Will be ordering a new Whalbro tomorrow.

puregas.org................I use it when I travel. That way I can hit up as much non-ethanol as I can.

Odd.......got to the fuel pump, checked again, nothing. Pull the pump and using some jumper wires hooked it direct to the battery. Sploosh! The fuel inside the pump came roaring out, and she was purring like a kitten. Weird. Check with a grounding light at the pump bucket connector with the diagnostic port terminals grounded, nothing. Weirder. Now I'm stumped, cause it's a swap car and certain things aren't located where they're supposed to be. So I plug everything back together, and of all things, when I started the car, she took a minute to clear up and I could hear the pump running! WTF. Haven't had a chance to drive it yet but starting, idling, revving all seem to be quite normal again. Wondering if there was just a bad connection at the pump that I reseated. More to come.

Thanks man!!!

Update. On initial start now it's a bit funky, but clears up after a few seconds. Breaks up a little revving up starting at about 3000 RPM, and it dies when I put it under a load. Thoughts?

i'd put a meter in line with the pump and watch it while you rev, etc. if voltage drops too much its in the wiring, if not, the pump is trolling you.
