Hey guys, cant find spark plug reference # for JDM st205 engine, even in our st205 part reference section, it has the part # for ignition leads, and alot more items, but not plugs, at least from what I can see,
does anyone have that #, would really help me out if you could post it. If I had the #, Im sure my local parts dealer could take that, and go one step further and order the #7 heat rateing, either NGK V-Power, or Bocsh platinum +4, these plugs both have the same thing in common......Big Spark,

I read that the standard spark plug for st205 is the 'Denso Iridium IK20'.
But if u intend to run more boost than the stock 0.9 bar, i would recommend you to get the ik22 instead as its a colder spark plug.
But personally i prefer the 'NGK iridium bkr7' which has the reputation of being more resistant. Thats what i am using with 1.2 bar boost and i cant complain.

the IK22 is a good plug, i would recommend an IK24 on the ST205 engine. if you dont want to spend that much on plugs. you can use copper NGK BKR7ES. I use these in all my cars. including my Supra

Thanx you guys, Rav, Iridium
Smaay, IK24 it is.......
Def. going with the Ik24, I think you can vouch Smaay, regarding my other post about high boost....as well I have popping out my exhaust around 5500rpms, am running NGK V-Power right now, with about 6000kms on them total......People say spark plugs tell a story about your engine, I pulled one out, and its black ( sutie ) around the bottom ring, and very white up top, I def. have a hot burn! and believe I am leaning out.......hence why I am trying to lower my boost, but this should help, to run a much colder plug, and Iridiums at that. biggrin.gif

Will try this # for the plugs at my local parts dealer....

well, the only plug i could get/find/cross reference at the local parts store, was a NGK bocsh lazer platnum, the coldest plug i could get was a heat rateing of 6......the guy didnt even know what i was talking about, cause north america never saw our motors, it wasnt listed in any books, in fact, it wasnt until i was looking with him, that i saw a 95 MR-2 3sgte to cross reference with....thats how i got this plug,

the gap might be too big too, on the BKR7ES that i use the factory gap is like .045 but i tighten them up to about .026 because of the boost. you can actually blow out the spark when boosting

Hmmmmmmmm, the plugs i bought were a BKR6EP ( NGK Laser Platinum )....I know the 6 is the heat rateing, but why is there a P where you had an S, Smaay?
I wonder if i should still go .026 on these ones as well, hopefully its the right plug, if not, i will try your # Smaay...

I'm running the NGK coppers on my 3rd gen and I have no issues with them, and they are cheap enough to replace them after everyother oil change if you wanted too.
