I heard that for the premium with the leather/alacantra seats and whatever else they throw on it.

EDIT: apparently I have limited and premium switched around http://www.ft86club.com/?p=904

Who would have thought that premium was considered base?

Oops, correct. I meant the Premium.

The Limited is in my range but I'd rather not spend 28~29k when there could be a possible STI/TRD variant incoming.

haha that's weird huh. I was thinking about it today. It should be 2012, but I guess the release date was to be in 2013. So in reality it should be released in October/November of 2012 for it to be a 2013 model???

ken gushi was talking about it on his page: Kenshiro Gushi "Its very responsive. You dont get the surge of power as you would with the turbo version, but because of the nature of how an NA responds, the car feels very direct to your hands and feet. and ass too."

he meant to say turbo car not version... i got excited for a sec...

Cars are usually premiered as next year's model - hence, 2013 model sold in 2012. I'm so excited, I love how they showed it slowly, slowly wagging its tail in the first motion shot, the silver FR-S I mean. Wonderful-looking.

I still have an issue with it being a Scion, but purchasing a Toyota GT-86 might solve me issues.

I watched that video of Ken drifting it around and I am not so gun hoe about calling out this vehicle as "handles like a champ" car. Let me explain MY interpretation of what I saw.

Ken was on a wet track in light drizzle. You can drift or powerslide virtually any vehicle even celicas. Mr Player158 was showing off his epic driving skills on one of our meets years ago all over the parking lot doing twirly twirls and powerslides in a front wheel drive 135hp celica. Heck my 236 hp 4x4 toyota tacoma becomes so tail happy in wet conditions its not even funny. In hands of a professional drifter like Ken on a wet track yep this car drifted or powerslided. Unfortunately if you turn the volume up and listen you can hear that engine really bog down on corner exits. It was like vroom vroom (maxing out the rev limiter) then powerslide then wait for it wait for it wait for it.... vroom and rpm dropped and car exited out of corner at quarter of speed he went into the corner. Those were MY observations.

And then we saw GREDDY's vision of FRS on some parking lot with like a 100 people all around. At some point towards the end they turn on the engine and you can hear that wonderful rev that sounded more like a lion cub from lion king than a powerful roar that you normally get out of greddy exhaust. it did not have the umpf behind it. I was very surprised because normally on catback exhaust configurations you can make even 97 hp st celicas sound like they are from 9th level of hell waiting to come out and conquer.

On the bright side I think its good that more and more we hear about supercharges, turbochargers, possible engine swaps etc etc. I figure this car really deserves 300 hp if they can squeeze that much out of it with bolt ons.

I can drift a lawn mower on a wet track...watch it on the dry track...took the racing line of a city bus not an f1 car...

When did anyone say this car was exposes to handle like a f1 car
it should end up being a great little sports car
it seems like its going to be well backed by the aftermarket
so it should take much to make it take a corner like a f1
an its already 6speed an rwd so it should be fun
