Unless your rich and don't care about money and you want to do something really stupid, then the 3sgte is by far the fastest, and by far the most feasible engine . Like the other 200 posts about the subject, it can easily be modified well over 500hp...thats one fast celica!

Skippy is a great nickname for you john biggrin.gif

and what makes you saying you did your own research even less believable...... the fact that you posted this topic in the wrong forum wink.gif

I still don't see how that's an insult.....if that's what it's supposed to be.

Thanks for the help...........

he's saying that you need to do some of your own research. use the search function, there are so many topics about this that it's not even funny. besides, you could do your own research, and go outside of the norm. it's just not a question that has a definate answer, it's all relative to the person responding, sooooo, read those books, search the forums. that's why we have this board. the search function will answer your question in more ways than a single topic could ever dream of. wink.gif.

If you've really done your research... there wouldn't be a need for this topic, now would there?

3sgte, ive seen the 3rd gen 3sgte taken to 800 hp, 2nd gen @ 700...

Mine is a 3rd gen @ 295 hp to the wheels, but after this summer it should be pushing 400+ to the wheels.

PS: stock the 2nd gen is 225hp and 3rd gen is 245-260hp. they bolt up to the gt celica tranny, but from what i seen they cant handle the power. best tranny to use is 3rd gen mr2 tranny off a 96-99 JDM mr2.

the 3stge and 5sfe are basically the same motor. one is a turbo 2.0L and the 5sfe is a 2.2L 4 banger. both engines use the same block. the main difference in them is probably the head. the 2.0l turbo has lower compression than the 2.2L head due to thickness on the face. the internals for both engines is pretty much also the same. you can literally take a head off of a 2.0L turbo and put it onto a 5sfe.
