I have not posted here in a few years but I still come here and read things all the time. Several years back I wrecked my first celica and than bought another one and kept the wrecked one for parts or if I ever decided to fix it back. It had everything factory option you could want including the full leather package and the sports suspension. The only option not bought when it was new was the auto tranny but who really wants that anyways?

Here is the 95 I bought to replace it sitting beside the wrecked 94. The wrecked one is on the right. This is an older picture as you can see the junky block building that use to belong to the abandoned house but has been torn down since than. After it was torn down I turned my shed sideways and put up a fence. The reason the fence is'nt right on the property line was because when the property was divided and sold off many years ago, part of that old building was actually on my parents property and the concrete had runoff about 6 inches thick another 6 to 8 feet over on us. The runoff was covered in 2 inches of dirt and is not visible. I tried to break it up and decided it was too much like work and plus it left me enough room to park my wrecked car and still be on our property.

Now I was in the process of moving from this house to another across town to be closer to my disabled sister and also closer to my parents. My mother has been pretty much stuck in the house since Sept and someone has to stay with her at all times. The house I am moving from is a rental house owned by my parents and the house needs work so moving was not a 30 rush job since we were all having to take turns staying with my mother.

So my dad comes home last week and asks me when did I move my car from the house I am moving from, and I am like, what are you talking about? He says your car is gone and you can see where someone drug it off his property, so he figured I had someone move it.

My 94 sitting on my parents property beside the fence built around part of the back yard. About 12 inches of that concrete slab is where the property line is between the 2 properties. Picture taken by the theives.

So I go over there to investigate and yes it was gone, I knew nobody had sent me anything about moving the car and my father had not received anything so I called the mayors office to see if they did something with it. Nope, it was'nt the city.

Since my parents own most the property around this house I decided I would check with the realtor that was trying to sell the 3 year abandoned house that sits to the side of my house but faces the main road. So I call them and find out that some cleaning company had it towed off to a salvage yard. So I let them know real fast that I already had reported the car stolen along with my floorjack amongst other things on my parents property.

Picture they (the theives) took from our private drive of the side of the house they are selling to the right and the house I am moving from to the left. My car was sitting beside the shed and fence right behind the tree limb trash piles they should have been cleaning up instead of my car and stuff. Nice job cleaning guys, I'll make a note not to hire you since you suck at cleaning.

So after a few days I find out they towed my car to a recycling center and it than went to the crushers and was destroyed. And not one person ever checked the vin and notified anyone, no one checked the deed to see if they could even tow it off to begin with (which clearly tells the property had been surveyed and everything marked with steel rebar posts in the ground), and the recycling center never recorded or checked for a title which is suppose to be required to buy a car for scrap.

Pictures taken (by the theives) in the first recycling center before it was shipped off and crushed. It still shined even covered with 2 years of dirt/dust since I had not sprayed it off recently. What a damn waste!!

They got $300 as scrap and if they would have parted it out they could have gotten alot more since the car was still driveable, you just had to jump the battery and put air in the tires.

Needless to say I am not accepting the $300 they got since I had already replaced the winshield in the car and also inside the hatchback was my toyota floormat set and factory am/fm cassette with cd player out of my 95 I am driving now, and also my jack and tools. I paid more than $300 to keep the car to begin with.

I just dropped of a nice letter showing what I paid for the car and everything I had in it already along with the prices of the stuff that came out of my 95 and my tools. I let them know I was giving them a discount from what it would cost them to replace everything So hopefully soon I will be receiving a check for everything or we will be going to court over this screw up. I was told they would take care of it since they don't want Fannie Mae hearing about this since they own the house now.

That is a serious shame. I hate ignorance. Not to meantion, that was down right rude. I'd sue them for the total cost... Not the discounted amount.

If they don't want Fannie Mae knowing, the first thing I'd be doing I'd calling them. They stole your property, knowing they shouldn't have been there. Become as much of a pain for them as they've been for you and they'll do what it takes to make the problem go away.

Wow, Words can't describe how bad this is. I lost count on the number of laws that were broken. Grand theft auto anyone?

My dad is a lawyer up in Lexington. He retired as a cop in '88 to be a lawyer full time. PM me if you want his contact info. I'd think a few letters from him to the right people would set this strait and cause great hardship on the people who screwed up.

get a lawyer and close their operation down if they don't get you a new celica....a replacement, even for a scrap yard, they must follow and oblige to the state rules and federal laws to ensure proper legal acts amongst their reputation as a business. let the state and feds do a investigation for their poor judgements and get them fire and closed if they don't replace. They are doing shaddy work regardless if it's an honest mistake. They should know better to check for vin and paper to the car. They gonna lose their license.

Yes, Lexington KY. Is there any other? I think not.

I grew up there and went to UK, then moved to Tacoma in '02.

PM sent.
