Ok, i know its kinda a cheezy to have a blow-off valve sound without the actual blow-off valve and turbo. But my car is all Show and no go, and i want that sound without having to spend $3000 to $4gs. It's rediculous when i just want the sound, i heard they make some Intakes that come close? any ideas?

yes, there is a fake blow-off valve noise maker you can buy. I believe one model is called the 'tsunami' or something to that extent. although I should warn you, if you buy one of those people will make fun of you to no end.

Not sure it would sound too good man. The purpose of a blow off is to release sompressed air the turbo it trying to push into the throttlebody when its closed (when you shift) so the air dosent come back down and damage the turbo itself. Im assuming you would have to have a lot of airflow coming in to the throttlebody to even consider something like this.. I dont know if jsut a standard CAI would provide adaquate airflow man..

I'm not one to normally slam, but man, no offense...but if there's a stereotype direction that "ricers" go into...you're headed into it. Like your profile says you wanna hit 250-350hp...but you're not willing to spend enough money to turbo ur car to get the real blow off valve sound? Kind of an oxymoron I'm thinking, because if you aren't willing to spend a g or two to get a turbo kit or swap in a 3sgte...then this would mean you wanna go all motor or something AND we all know you can't get that much power from the 5sfe doing mods under a grand. I don't know, man you gotta get your ideas and goals straight here. I'm trying not to be mean, and this is not the intention of the post either. Just some advice I guess to try and set your goals straight on a path and not say things that are complete opposites such as "I want 250-350 hp, but I don't wanna spend the money to get it there" lol...kinda funny I guess. But yeah man, you can check out that tsunami turbo thingy, it has a speaker and makes the sound at a certain rpm.

Also, that e-turbo I bought and tried out for everyone so they could all see it doesnt work, had a neat sound. It bogged down my car a lot and made it a bit slower, but you can get that and think you're gaining power and then you get the blow off sound too...for the same price as that tsunami thing. Whatever floats your boat I guess...

But my honest opinion says why not actually save up for making the blow off valve a working part of a turbo system on your ride? You could either do a swap...or...you could turbocharge your 5sfe for not much more than a grand or grand and a half out of your pocket. And then you'll have some go to back up the show you're going for, or you could forget the turbo sound and spend the money on a body kit to actually make your car have a "show-car-esque" presence, cuz as it sits, it kinda looks stock and pretty much a starter car for any direction you wanna go whether it's show, some show/some go, or all go. Whatever floats your boat man.

the sound alone is pointless and annoying.

but when it comes with the added power a turbo setup gives you, its great.

but other than that, i would not even want the sound with out the rest of the setup

OK OK OK, You guys are all hatein on me, but seriously, i love my car. And if i fit a stereotype "I DONT GIVE A F***!" honestly! i mean so what if i want my car to sound cool. Its because i usto have a turbo in my MR2 i crashed it and i mean "yes" i want my car to hit those HPS, but i am afraid i would roll over this one doing the same thing. So if you dont mind me saying, I like what i do with my car, it makes me happy, and if you guys dont like it you all can go to hell! I have always done extreme stuff to my cars, and i have gotten praise and hate its a win, lose situation, BUT IM GOING TO DO WHAT I WANT TO DO!!!

whoa dude calm down, You can't take people opinions to heart, for every person who says they hate it there is most likly a person who likes it. Just remember that man, and if you like your car who cares what other people think.

Well........... this is a place to post ideas and thus replies to a thread, So dont get upset when you bring up a "fake" B.O.V. and people *politley* say in so many words NO. Snadman's right so why would possibly say hmmm what was it,....oh yea "you can all go to hell." *Shrugs* if you want a fake Pssshhhh then buy a fake Pssshhh, just dont get mad at everyone who sees you on the road points and chuckles.

But see what i mean, seriously why do people on forums just come out and automaticaly critisize, i am not trying be an a** but its like they think they are cool cause they can critisize and not have to worry about people knockin' them out ya know? I mean i'm from Buffalo and a lot of my friends had their cars hooked up to sound like that and no one gave them s***. So for someone to critisize like that is just a way be an a**. I dont know but, i was just getting sick of people thinking what i did to my car was stupid ya know?

You go ahead and put on that fake BOV sound device and I guarantee that you'll get laughed at 95% of the time. Maybe you don't care about what people think, but I'm sure that if this many people LAUGH at you, I guarantee that you'll have nothing but regrets...

And if you're afraid that you're going to roll your car over AGAIN... you really SHOULD NOT be driving... only wreckless and stupid drivers would repeat the same mistake...

i guess it's an east coast thing but people don't get laughed at that much for what they do to their car.. we just look and drop our head.. but thats when something really stupid is done. people around here usally just say i don't like that and thats it.

and DJMC just look on ebay you'll find a ship load of those things...and best luck on any project you do on your car..
