I'm guessing he wasn't allowed to continue after that stage without repairs?

It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.

Well you did 100 times better the second time through the spectator area (s1 & s5). Keep her in one piece and you'll be in great shape.

Hahahahha, i'm not sure what happend on that turn.... but i was trying to stop for like 100 yards and I just couldnt. I've driven on snow before but never an ice skating rink.

I struggled the last two stages because my light pod wasn't working couldnt see anything. I alos need a new front fender/bumper, but i finished.

Back at it tomorrow. I'll have some good videos in a few days.

aww sucks to see that happen. how taking out the headlights and installing fiberglass inserts so that if anything does fly towards your headlights it will just reflect off the fiberglass like so.... I also remember seeing a pic with your car and a pair of 4 rally headlights so you also drive at night correct??

Yeah... but you have to have OE Low Beams at the least for driving between stages after dark... the additional illumination afforded you for night stages are not normally street legal...

Opps.... yeah that was on the 5th stage of day 2. We were doing pretty good up until then, .25 miles from the end of that stage. Slid through a right 3, wheel cocked all the way to the right, slid through the turn hit some snow and got traction and it slingshotted us back across the road. The road was a sheet of ice and I couldnt straighten it out, just slid through the road.

Hit a stump, debeeded the front left tire, but reseated itself with a tiny bit of air. The rear was torn off the rim. Once we got pulled out we drove on the rim to the end of the stage so we wouldnt DNF. At the end of the stage we changed the rear tire with the spare we had in the car. Drove to service, and was able to finish out the rally.

We really sucked on the night stages though. Ice got into the auxillary lighting connector and shorted it whenever i turned it on. One headlight i blew out, a high beam burnt out... So i literally a headlight and one highbeam driving in a blizzard.

The whole weekend was a struggle, but we finished and it was a lot of fun.

I'm at about 2:05 in this video. Not one of my finer moments. This was about a mile in on the first stage, took a lot of getting used to how icy it was... You can see at 3:17 people can barely walk across the roads on the first day. Racing on it was insane.

A lot of this was filmed in the gravel pit, which it was only about 1 mile out of the entire race, but the stage is for spectators. They bus them in and everyone stands up on the hill.

I'll have some of my incar video posted hopefully tonight.

Wow - that corner looked like hell - at least you just slid; most of the other guys ended up doing 180's... lol.

Well here's incar from stage 1. I hit many snow banks, it was pretty much a disaster as far as driving.

It was so easy to stall the car, if you tapped the brakes you would stall, because you'd instantly lock up all 4 wheels. If you do it in gear well.... itll stall. I'll have a lot of pics soon, probably more vids.

I envy you, being able to get out there and thrash the car around. This thread is by far one of, if not the best active threads on 6gc or any of the other forums I'm on. The pictures/videos alone are priceless.

Well those are your wheels being thrashed haha... thanks for them! I wish someone else on this board would get into it, it's mostly subaru, mitsu, ford, vw's. Don't think i've ever been to a rally with another toyota let alone celica.
