I gotta give it to ya.... i wish the one picture wasn't blurry. Those really have a chance at looking good if you can get the lenses cut to perfect shape and the insides finished up.

Nice work so far! thumbsup.gif

i like the progress that you are doing on the head lights and i believe that i have to solution for your current perdicament. what you need to do is make a smooth mold of the INSIDE of the head light lenses.. essentialy making a negative to be placed on a vacuume table. then make a posative casting using softened plexi. that way you can have the "sides" to the lens that you are looking to get so that the lens can then be mounted the the head light housing like normal.

much like this guy did for the inside shroud for his head lights..

i would say that the only additional step to the whole process would be to use some extremely high lvl (6000+) sand paper and then a buffing wheel, w/ a compound that will not tarnish the plexi. Five Axes did a how-to on how to make and use a vacuum table, in one of the import mags.. (can remember if it was Project car, Import Tuner, Modified, or D-Sport.)

i really think that you would have better results using this process. smile.gif

thanks for the info .

i just find that video , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2uGPe0aZgU
i just need to find a vacuum table now lol,
but talking about the result, the black rubber around the headlight will hide all that stuff around the lenses, so, that mean this can be done easely by custom process, i , before i saw your suggestion,i was about to make the circle around the headlight made of plexiglass itself (it bend easely when the plexi is thin, )
in 4 or 5 piece, to correct the curve around, and put putty to make a good finish around the headlight, since we dont see it , , its gonna be finish whit silicone to stick to the lenses,

i know its sound crazy, but that a way to do it.

but if i found a vacuum table.... ill be able to do a perfect job like in the video (created easely a new inside pattern) and cover,

no problem smile.gif your welcome.. and yes you could always do as you were thinking of doing but i feel that though the shape would come out nice and you could "hide" it. but i think that the line were the plexi and the sides would meet would move with just the vibration of the car moving, and most likely would crack..

the mag article showed how to make a vacuume table.. and as far as i can tell the only part that may take a few tries is the placement of a few of the suction holes. that would give a perfect moulding.

good luck!!!
