the MR2 tranny will need to be modified to work, the shift linkage is on the opposite side. now what you can do and i highly suggest this, is take the transfer case off the ST205 tranny, use the MR2 differential, and cover plate and now you have a tranny that has the linkage on the right side.

Yeah i know.it has to be modified because the shift cables on the mr2 comes from the.other side but how sure you are that the transfer case from the st205 fits the e153?

if i recall correctly the E153 is for FWD/MR cars(minus linkage differences) and the E154F is for AWD's i also read on one of the gt-4 sites of people doing as smaay said, i believe there is write ups on it if some searching is done. good luck glad to see another 3s!, soon enough everybody hope my business picks up i can get a XB for my DD/mobile detail rig and use the celi for my project.

But will be easier if i just swap the gt4 trausfer case for the mr2 correct? Because if i only swap the shifter linkage i will need to drill new holes on the mr2 tranny to mount the gt4 linkage. Just under the engine mount.

You would rather swap the whole case than drill two holes?
