My running light for the rear wont go on. When i step on the brakes they light up. I just changed the bulbs all are good, changed the fuse in the kick panel, changed the 3 amp fuse inside the rear panel. I dont know what else could be wrong with it. The wirings also look fine (no crunched or pinched ones.) Anyone know what else can be the issue? It's a 1994 GT-four. Any help would be much appreciated.

that happened to me, but my fuse panel was completely messed up (from the previous owner doing the wiring wrong to the fog lights). I changed mine and it was fine. I check all the stock soldering points on the tail light harness, and since those are wrapped, you can't really tell just from looking at them

sorry for bringing this back up. but i havent fixed my problem yet. I see no problem in the wirings and my fuse and bulbs are still good. Can it be the tail lamp relays or no?

This might help

looks like there are a lot of different things that could go wrong in this particular circuit. Definitely check if you have power in the socket with the lamp removed...do your license plate lights work?

naw its easy.

Basically the fuses for the tail circuit are after the relay. So remove the fuses and make sure the input side of the fuse slot has 12V on it when you turn your lights on, if they don't then your relay is prob bad. But we can assume your relay is OK because you say your front markers work.

Next is make sure you have power on the output side of all the fuses (I can't tell if there are 2 or 3 without going out to the shop and checking...and frankly I'm warm and just don't want to.

Next remove the bulbs from the taillights and check for power inside the socket. Last step is make sure the ground is attached (back door center)

edit: after a closer look at the diagram the only way that your fronts would work and not your backs is if that one connector right in the middle was unplugged. Labelled 5 1F. lemme look and see where it is

Junction block F

which is a gray 13-pin connector in the RH kickpanel

pin 5 in that particular connector should be a green wire.

Check and make sure that connector is plugged in.

ok so when i turned on the car yesterday, the tail lights for some reason was working.. so i didnt check those things yet.. but then when i started it this morning, they weren't working again. Couldnt it be a wire grounded or something?

Make sure your ground is good, I can't remember exactly but I think it is between the two rear lights inside the trunk, just take the interior panel off and you should see it.

But honestly, get yourself a test light or a multimeter and do your basic checks for power. You now know the wire color and all the different connectors it goes through to get to the tail end, so just start tracing power.....you know where it starts and where it is supposed to end

The ground point is indeed in the center of the rear panel, right under the hatch latch.
