I figured I'd make this thread for fun. When u see a tuner drive by or in a lot, pics. what are some things that annoy about the builds?

example:

I cant stand all black rims, makes the car look dirty. And I hate the sound of an exhaust without a CAT

Exhaust is my biggest annoyance. Every Civic/Eclipse/Neon etc... with straight pipe 4" exhaust makes me die inside. If they want to sound like a bumblebee, guess that's their business. Primered body kits. Not so bad at first, I understand not everyone has the money to paint it right away, but once it's been over a year... Eh, that's about it for now I suppose. Unless you can count the punk ass kids that think they're in the "Fast and the Furious".

I assume you typo'ed and you mean you hate the sound of an exhaust without a cat. I don't know how someone can hear a difference. A catalytic converter only burns up any left over emissions. It's not a muffler or a resonator or anything like that. It makes no change in sound. It makes a change in smell... and I like my car stinky.


My pet peeves - before the thread gets locked down:

Big body kits
Chrome anything unless it's a show car engine bay
Big spoilers on FWD cars
Painted interior trim

the cockiness and ego's in the scene that have really started to develop over the past couple years.

I miss the good old days

Black rims with a polishied/silver lip, when the wheels aren't deep.

People that think having anything from japan on their car is the coolest most "JDM" thing in the world...
Overusage of the word JDM in reference to their "JDM tyte" car...

Ah yes chrome, and big spoilers on fwd. Forgot about that. Chrome belongs on cars from the 60's and earlier. That and adding a giant spoiler to give down-force to the un-powered wheels, genius.

yes the exhaust thing (haha i'm at that stage right now!) ya black painted wheels look horrible at night looks like your on steelies, im all for the simple oem look.

when they strip out and you can't get a low E. When someone puts too much string
on it, and it unwinds and pokes you in the eye.

Why do I feel like I just stepped in a room full of people in only my boxer shorts, lol

Other people thinking because I work on my Celica, I instantly know how to fix their POS (Non-celica)

This! I had a guy asking me about a motor swap and AWD conversion on a Mitsubishi 3000GT a while back...

My biggest pet peeve is virtually what Tiga said- people who put an exhaust on the car then immediately become so cocky that they think their stock Cavvy will kill a Vette ZR-1.
