It doesn't really 'Cut' into it at all really. Theres no wear on the tires from the guards, more the Negative camber i have. When turning a corner more aggressively, the body of the car moves down more onto the side of the tire.

So, depending on your suspension setup, and negative camber, you shouldn't run into many problems with your tires getting sliced.

Hmmm I just physically measured 40mm gap in front and 30mm in back from tires to fender? That's kind of weird i thought the back had more of a gap than the fronts

Hi guys, a speedy response would be amazing.

I'm going to order 15x7" Diamond Racing Steelies
I want them to stick out and be much more flush than the stockers, but I don't want any troubles or have to do anything extra. Wht would a good offset be? Maybe 25mm?

ok soo looking at a set of motegi MR125 @ 17x7.5 et 42(only option they have for the 5x100) after reading this thread, it would seem that i will need a 10mm in the front and 15mm in the rear. the car has a 1" drop lowered on sprint springs. looking to perhaps put a set of 235 45 r17's on em..

any ideas if it will rub at all?

Here's my mark. I have 17x8 +35 with 235-45-17 all around. In the rears, I'd need 25mm spacers for flush and fronts need 15mm spacers for flush. My 15mm spacers made a difference in the rear, 10mm more and i'd be flush. I'm dropped 3" in the front and 2" in the rear with megan coilovers. Front were "ghetto" rolled (psh new front end next spring) and rears unrolled. My rears rub quite a bit on bumps. I raised the front .5 and it still rubbed so I dropped it back down to 2". Oh well. Yes, fronts were rolled but they stuck in and rubbed my tires quite a bit. Going straight wont rub but turns are annoying as hell.

So in all, get something around 17x8 +10 rears and +20 fronts would've been flush as hell. But, the wheels make all the difference in the world! Check bore, etc, etc.

17x7.5 with a 10mm spacer isn't going to do jack to your car. if you have 17x7 with 40+ offset on up, do your homework as you need a huge chunk of spacer to cover that gap. Think about it, +35 is the magic number so think lower, NOT higher!

perfect example of flush. there are going to be angles where it looks as if the wheels are sticking out. though, +10 & +15 makes a tiny difference. either way, it's as close to flush as possible.

thanx block, yeah, if i could i would get a set @ 35mm ET.. the thing is that this set comes in at just over 16lbs per rim, for a 17" rim. And they are in the $155 range, making them one of the lightest and cheapest rims on the market.. and i auto-x ( but this will be my DD so mostly an ocational weekend worrior) so looking to stick as much meet as i can w/o rubbing.. sooo i should be ok right? even w/o the spacers? im not looking for hella flush or even a hard tuck, just dont want them to be too sucked in, and get a better stance to manage my center of gravety during a race.

Is there a way I can make 18x9,5 +34 front fit without cutting fenders? I'm sure some negative camber will be needed. What tires will I need to prevent rubbing?

I know it's not to everyone's taste, but I'm trying to go for "hellaflush".

Alright, I've got a set of 18x8.5 +30 XXR 522s

I've also got a lead on some 25mm spacers for the rears for cheap.

I was thinking that its going to put me at a 5mm poke in the rear and tucked 8mm in the front. Am I right in my calcs?

Right on the rears, but you're only going to be tucked 3mm in the front.

Edit: Btw, you sure they'll fit? Because I looked up that wheel and it looks damn good, and while looking for prices, I found a 17x8 wheel, the ET48 one is 5x100, but the ET35 one is not. And just to check, I looked at the 18x8.5 ones and the ET30 ones are all 5x114.3/5x120. The ET48 ones are 5x100, which unless you did a lug conversion, is what you need. Just giving a heads up.

yea the 18x8.5 +48 would work with 15 mm spacer front and 25 mm spacer rear. here's a pic of that wheel with that size and offset.

I picked up a set that is ET30 with the 5x114/120.

I never told the guy what I drove, but when I asked for specs, he gave me 5x100 ET38 lol

Like I said, I'm got got a buddy with conversion spacers for the rears and I was planning on doing the Rav4 hub conversion in the front. I just needed to make sure that the 25mm spacer isn't going to poke me too far out.

I'm considering replacing my wheels since the tC things are heavy, and one of mine is apparently slightly oval. Still, I can play with spacer fantasies:



Only $120, not including shipping, cheaper than I thought quality spacers were. Now to decide between 15 or 20mm. I still feel like a 17x8 would be a much better base to start with. Also, not going for herraflush whatsoever, it's just that the tC wheels are fairly sucked in.

Don't know if it's possible or if u guys will disagree with me but I just bought a set of Miro stp1 Rims, size-17x10- 5x100/112- offset 25, with falken ze-912 215/35zr17 Tires.... Which I hope I can some how put on.. I was told to do research on which will be the safest way to instal these.. I have stock suspension pretty much a stock 95 celica st liftback...I have seen a 7th gen with 18x10 and it looked really nice. Any help or ideas.. Sorry if this is a repost.

If I wanted a deep lip on my rims (like in the pics below) and I decide to go to say discount tire or I order online, what numbers would I be wanting to write down so I could be sure the parts dealer knows what Im looking for? I already have a size for height 17x ?, 5X100 but as far as width and offset Im completely lost.

Its hard to find a wheel with that deep of a lip without getting into the really wide widths, >9" wide.

Ok say I want to go 9, 9.5, or even push the limit to ten. what would be my asking numbers then? I already know the modifications thats required and ready to do it. Just more concerned about my numbers. Say I wanna go 17x9-9.5 5x100. What would be my offset to get that kind of lip?
