Interesting. No problems with it hitting the axle? no problems whatsoever, i had this exhaust on my old celica and never scraped it. A lot of guys on here run the exhaust under like this. The only time I ever had issues with the exhaust hitting the axel was when I tried jacking up the rear end to upgrade the suspension... LOL. -------------------- |

See, I hate local shops. I asked them if they could do that and they tell me "Oh no, it'll not work the same. Blah blah blah 450 dahrahs"

I got mine done in Fall river, IIRC its the same place a handful of people on this site have gone. It cost me just over 200 for the exhaust when I showed up with my own muffler, resonator and high flow cat. The only thing I wish I did was put a flex pipe in there. I'll do that soon on my own after I get better at welding.

Some minor progress...
Started to modify the DCW shift boot pod to fit a bit better. There was a small gap at the top and also there is no mounting clips so it just sits there... (This piece was a prototype I convinced Doggy to sell me, his work is absolutely top notch, this was never put into production so that's why it wasn't finished) some progress pics below. Also, I painted some trim a dark silver color. Came out decent, I'm going to put a few more coats on and sand it with a really fine grit. and.. i found a plug that works for my for light switch from an old interior harness I had. pics: comparison gap this stuff really is such high quality. I love his work first glassing the silver color.. Also got the car tinted, more pics later This post has been edited by jcbass7: Jul 23, 2011 - 11:17 PM |

more pics..
you can see that if i push it forward it matches better, but then there is a gap below.. so I still need about an eighth of an inch of glass on the top to fill the gap, if i don't have it pushed forward And the new silver look. I like it. And the tint.. |

Some more progress.. got it to fit better and glassed a clip on there. The second clip will be attempted tonight. I think two of them should be enough to keep this piece in place. It fits real snug now that I have it fitting better, but I like the idea of having it clip into the factory spot..

Finally got my act together and finished the DCW shift pod. I moved from CT to FL so it got neglected until I got settled, but now I have a lot more space to work.
It clips in, fits snug and looks great. I spent a lot of time working on this piece since it was such a high quality part to begin with. I wanted to do justice to Doggy's work since I was modifying it a bit. new garage: how it fit before.. |

Been a while. I replaced my clutch master cylinder since it was going out (even after I rebuilt it). Now I'm dealing with a bit of rust before it gets worse (already bad in one spot).
I'm also starting a new project.. can you guess what it is going to be when I'm done? New Project: and that nasty rust.. This post has been edited by jcbass7: Apr 11, 2012 - 8:20 PM |
