Well painted the car.... too much blue. Should have painted the whole thing. The fenders/bumper I got were brown so obviously its better blue than brown, but ehhh. The lines don't flow well, maybe itll look a little better once I actually get everything on. Might have to get some white fender stripes or something. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

Maybe make a line that flows with the pillar and top of the door and into the fender, paint what's below that white to match the rest of the car. Try and make a nice transition. That's just my OCD talking though.

Maybe i'll paint the lower sill blue, 2 white fender stripes should make it look better.
It's painted with a single stage paint so I wont attempt to wetsand and buff it, so it wont be a mirror like the rx7 paint, but it's a rally car. From 5 feet it looks almost the same. The single stage was a lot cheaper than a dual stage urethane by a few hundred dollars. Great work!
You mentioned in my "progress" thread; FYI, do you have a separate? The coil is separate from the distributor unlike the 5sfe, also doesnt bolt the engine bay so it most likely didnt come with one. What did you use? OEM or did you go aftermarket? (MSD, etc) -------------------- |

Great work! You mentioned in my "progress" thread; FYI, do you have a separate? The coil is separate from the distributor unlike the 5sfe, also doesnt bolt the engine bay so it most likely didnt come with one. What did you use? OEM or did you go aftermarket? (MSD, etc) I used OEM. I was able to use ToyoDIY, cross reference the part number for the 3sge and find out which cars in the USA use the same coil. I end up going to a pic-a-part and getting one off a 98 rav4 for like 20 bucks. Here's the part:90919‑02209 According to some websites it fits my exact model, but I know for a fact that the distributor that came with my car, vs the 3sge were not the same. My distributor had an extra plug for the coil. The 3sge needed that part. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

Pro tip of the day - if you start to get a misfire at higher RPMs that gradually starts to fall lower into the RPM range as the engine gets hotter and hotter - replace your coil pack with a new one.

Alright the celica is reassembled. Need to tie up a lot of loose ends on the car before STPR which is a national rally in north central PA. June 1st/2nd.
Looks a little plain right now, but once i get some event stickers on there itll help. Also working on the Rx7. I had to chop up and redo the piping to the turbo. I changed exhaust housing to a bigger AR ratio. The old housing was on-center, the new one is tangential. So the physical location changed. I also gave myself more room this time so I end up running 3.5" exhaust the entire way back, instead of 3" for a bit, then stepping it up to 3.5". 3.5" is the biggest I can fit. 4" would probably be ideal for max power. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

Got the Rx7 tuned today. Final tune numbers were 725rwhp/760rwtq on 93 octane., 21 psi. Video was the first pull that was cut short due to some knocking, but its the only vid I have.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k74bFTRr9w&feature=g-upl Once again this was an initial pull, not final tune. Now I need to get busy on the celica to get ready for STPR. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq
