i've just bought an Apexi PFC unit that is designed for SW20 MR2 and would like to use it on my ST205

the commander mentions

3SGTE3
PFC Ver3.2
Commander Ver 8.x

engine starts but dies after a sec or 2....

i've chosen "ETC"-->"All Data Init"-->"yes". also disabled the Boost control kit and the prob persists....any idea why?

The MR2 is wired a bit different than the Celica. I have no experience with an ST205 but my engine came out of a JDM MR2, and that's a totally different car versus the ST205. Don't think that just because they're both 3S-GTE, you can get away with plug-and-play ease. It might work for some people, but not all market cars are wired exactly so it might work for a few members here and not for you. If it shuts down, there is a problem. Check the wiring to make sure that each pin from the ECU harness is going in the right pin location of the PFC harness. The fueling map for an MR2 is going to be different, but I don't think it should prevent your engine from running continuously. Heck, our engines can run with a 4G63 base map...and that engine is WAY different than ours.

was your MR2 engine a 225 or 245 model? 3SGTE Rev2 on the 225 needs an adaptor harness...this PowerFC is showing "3SGTE3" 3 to indicate Rev3...I stand to be corrected biggrin.gif

Hello sirs wink.gif
I am in the look to buy an Apexi Power fc or an hks f con v. I have heard only the best for the power fc but is quite hard to find it for st205. I though found one for sw20 mr2. From what i read above its all about rewiring if you have the stock watercooler. I have my car stock and i only have an hks exhaust, an hks intake system and a boost controller. Now should i get this sw20 power fc or should i wait for a long long time tongue.gif to find a st205 power fc that is really hard?
Is sw20 mr2 power fc going to work 100% in my st205? its a jdm import btw.Thansk

I just installed a PowerFC for a Gen3 MR2 and it works flawlessly. I am running a FMIC so I chose to have the MR2 one over the Celica. If you wire your chargecooler pump to run all the time then it will work perfect for you as well.

Got my hands on one sw20 power fc for my celica st205. I will try to install it within the next 2 weeks when ill take the car to the mechanic. Can i run a stock base map or do i need to program it when i install it. I will put a garrett gt35, external wastegate, etc and id like to run it for a while until i gather an amount for the program. What do you think? Btw does the sw20 power fc runs good now?
