Make sure you document this as well. Once my swap is done I want to do the ABS delete as well.

you mean the caliper??? the rotors are the same size as our gt's. Ok maybe the gt-s are 5mm larger in diameter.

Want to say 7th gen caliper is dual pot, where our's are single pot. Unless it was a ST202 or ST205, they were dual pot too I believe.

ive read somewhere about the gts brakes and that they really werent much of an upgrade as they were pretty similar to the stock gt brakes.

this is a write up on how to convert mr2 calipers for a gt

Got to looking at parts. Seems 7th gen Celica is single pot too. It's the MR2 Turbo that had dual pot calipers, along with the ST202 and ST205 if I recall correctly. I think I remember something on here about someone using MR2 Turbo calipers.

I see Ted got to that already, way to go Ted. thumbsup.gif

mr2 have less surface area than the oem gt calipers. get supertrut celica twin piston calipers. They supposedly bolt up too gt brake bracket.... says forgmann via his forsale thread. but pics are that clear (night pics)

They make no difference, per Rusty and S8S8. Bit of a waste of cash unless your car is a track car.

yes true that better surface area! less likely to lock up your brakes on the TRACK!!

Ive done my best with this car to keep the major parts from other usdm cars so if/when they need replaced i can just walk in to advance an say i need — part for —car
So the ss-iii calipers are out of the running
Ill probably just stick with the gt brakes an delete the abs if i cant get my brakes to work better after i bleed them again

ABS delete is fairly simple (from talking to others who have done it) just a few new brake lines along the firewall which can be ordered from toyota.

I am converting my car from ABS to no-ABS in the next month or so, I just got all the firewall lines from a parts car that didn't have ABS.
