Hate to see you go but good luck with the sale zonz. Let us know what you'll be getting next. biggrin.gif

Well it was a student's job and I had to travel 30mins everyday to go there and another 30mins to get back home. So I'll just find something near me this time. Hopefully I'll find a job related to cars ftm but I don't have anything in mind atm. What is sure though, is that it will be a better job. My last job was total ****. So it's basically switching a bad for a good. It only sucks for the time that I'll be jobless.

Tuned up and drove my landlords 2008 Civic Si. Holy ****....

I have so much respect for that car now. When lift engages, holy ****.... It even has a little red light next to the MPH to tell you when to shift!

Things I didn't like:
-Tunnel vision... the front window is too far away and I feel too far back. The Celica makes me feel more welcome and wrapped around.
-The either really ****ing heavy flywheel or assisted RPM matching ****. Every shift stays at the same RPM as you lift your foot without adding gas to it. What the **** is that? It's like babying people... I thought the Celica was easy to drive. You don't even need to know how to drive stick to get good at the Si.
-Too quiet. I hit 60mph on the side street in 3rd without realizing how fast I was going because of how detached I was from the car.
-The car is way to ****ing hard to work on. I had to take off the whole wiper cowel, metal plate below and some covers just to change the plugs.

What I did like:
-POWER! Holy **** does that thing have power. When you feel like the car is losing power at the higher RPM, lift kicks in and punches you back in the seat... ****ing sick.
-Is nimble and responsive. It handled similar to the Celica, which I love, even though it was heavier.
-GREAT on gas mileage.

Unfortunately, the bads outweigh the goods for me. Too bad. Hopefully when I test the FR-S, which is the same in power but RWD, I will finally find a new car that I truly like.

Got to drive down some Florida roads that seem to be common, but it is basically a hard sand road with tons of ruts. The fresh water springs were nice though...

But this is about 6gc's...

That road seemed to have caused a semi-stripped bolt on the frame that holds the brake caliper in place to fall out. Which if you havn't had happen to you, makes a horrible sound when braking, and being 30 minutes for home..bit of blood pressure riser. Basically this frame was riding on the top part of the rotor, and the brakes were out of line on the rotor. Pulled over, and couldn't find anything obvious like a pad popped to the side, or a small rock. So I had to do it the fun way and use the e-brake, with some engine braking to get home. Interesting on the high way, alot of annoyed people, but obviously wasn't a smart time to be riding arse.

Didn't know it was stripped, though I just changed the rotors a little while back. Guess it was weak prior, and my final crank killed the last thread...cause that is a hell of a thread and would require some work besides my 1 arm to strip.

Don't have a tap at the moment big enough, and the bolt seems to have a little bite, doesn't pull out. So red loctited it in, and will have to pick up a big tap and bolt for the bracket later in the week.

This is probally know, but the ST front brakes are smaller then the GT's.....otherwise I would have swapped the 2.

Today I...

Watched Leelevi get banned, for creating 78 spam posts.

on a serious note, I started sanding my 6gc on the damaged areas. Next Im gonna hammer everything out to the best of my ability. Then use some self etching primer( I could only find it in a rattlecan, will that be sufficient?) and finally it will be time for the bondo.

Got a quart of sandable primer too so I can give my HVLP gun a whirl.

^ I maintain that your previous struts were done, the Sportline is really not a hard spring. Try Megan springs for a harsh(er) ride.

Called in a claim for a recycling center to come pick up the old celica.

Sad day, but she is of no use, unless you want to cut the front off...not happening.

No funds gained, no funds lost, but sad to see her go...even in this current state.

Time to strip the remainder parts, watch her drug onto a flatbed for the square treatment =(
