I've been asked a lot how I put these in so I figured I'd just write up a thread.
To do this you will need stock 6th gen seats from 96+ or newer. These are 94 seats: notice the plastic trim that goes all the way down the side... now these are newer 6th gen seats hard to tell, but notice the plastic trim is different. So are the seat pans and rails and that's what we need. Below: 94 seat rails on top and 7th gen on bottom.. again 94 rails will not work Steps -Unbolt the bottom seat cushion from the rails (this makes it easier to remove the plastic trim) -Remove the plastic trim from both seats -Remove the back cushion from the seat rails (4x 14mm bolts on the end of the rails) -Take the bottom seat cushion for both 6th and 7th and remove the upholstery -Transfer the seat foam and upholstery from the 7th gen seat to the seat pan of the 6th gen seat (lines up fairly well, use some zip ties to assist) -Bolt the back cushion of the 7th gen seat to the seat rails for the 6th gen (direct fit) -Reinstall the bottom seat cushion to the 6th gen seat rails(6th gen seat pan/ 7th gen foam and upholstery) And you're done! If you happen to find 7th gen leather seats that match the leather you already have, you can literally just swap over the rear seat cushion with four bolts if you prefer. The bottom seat cushions look very similar. (I'll be adding some pics when I find them and cleaning this thread up a bit) This post has been edited by jcbass7: May 24, 2012 - 9:25 AM |

Of course I have 95 seats. So I have to buy 96+ seats just to turn around and buy the 2000+ seats. No welder, and too lazy for that.

I'm not 100% if 95 seats are the same as 94's or 96's, the plastic will tell you the difference, or the handle to slide forward and back. I was able to find seats rails, the plastics and the seat pans cheap from a member on here |

They're the same. The car came with a 96+ bottom cushion foam to replace one that was in the car. Way different, the 96+ foam wouldn't fit down onto the 95 pan. Would like to have the 7GC or MR2 seats. Maybe the older MR2 seats will work with the 94-95 rails, being from the same time period and what not.

I like the MR2-S seats, just run into the same problems as the 7GC seats. That and they're pricey, at least the ones I've found.

This still kinda confuses me I drive a 94 but what I was thinking just buy a universal slider that attatches to the 7th gen seats and 6th gen bracket instead of all that work idk if that would work just an idea

I don't think I'd trust $140 seats with my life in an accident, I have seen some GNARLY pictures floating around the internet of what happens to those seats and those who were sitting in them. Basically, if you buy them I hope you like wheel chairs. -------------------- |
