5sfe headers missing nuts and bolts?, Need a picture |

Hey. Can anyone shoot me a pic of their 5sfe stock headers because as I was flushing my coolant I noticed that to the far left. There was a nut missing and to the far right there was no nut or bolt but a hole? Or let me know if there are suppose to be bolts and nuts there and if so, where can I get them?

If there are no exhaust leaks there's nothing to be worried about. 3S-GTE exhaust manifolds (when doing a turbo build) for example, don't have the exact same bolt patterns as the FE heads usually... they still seal properly with whatever nuts you fasten them with.

Agree, there should be nuts on both spots and studs. BTW, Fram is the worse oil filter known to man.

Agree, there should be nuts on both spots and studs. BTW, Fram is the worse oil filter known to man. So...............where can I get the stud? Yea I know it's not a good filter but I needed to do an oil change and full tune up with limited money. I spent all the money on the good stuff like my ngk spark plugs and wires. To be honest my car has really bad emission problems and to make it worse I live in Cali. I bought this Celica like this and I'm saving money to change my cats, o2 sensor, and maybe replace some fuel filters and ect. So I don't know if this can be one of the cause of the bad emission problems. -------------------- |

just replace the CAT that should solve your problems. you can get the stud at a toyota dealer. they are about a dollar each.

just replace the CAT that should solve your problems. you can get the stud at a toyota dealer. they are about a dollar each. Man I hate dealers. I guess I'll go give them a try then. I ran a obd2 CEL reader and my fuel system, cat, egr, and o2 sensor needs cleaning or replacement. -------------------- |

If you can't find a stud to go in there, you can go the opposite direction. for example if the stud has been fully removed and not broken off (if broken stud, which u can still remove by an extractor), you can get a matching bolt probably a 14mm bolt. Thats what I've done on other cars where the stud breaks, i just remove the stud and use a bolt instead.

its actually a 10mm X 1.25 bolt with a 14mm head on it. i suggest still getting a stud, its too easy to strip out the head with a bolt

should be fine with a bolt, just use a six point socket all the time. bolt outs and/or extractors could take it out worse case scenario. but either way it don't matter if you want it stock looking of course get the stud, which is probably what I would do anyway. The bolt method is ok for those who don't mind it.
