the 4wd e154f transmission is basically an e153 (mr2 trans) with a center differential assembly attached. To convert to rear drive you need to purchase an mr2 open/lsd differential, a cover plate to go where the center housing was, and a rear facing shift linkage. All together its probably gonna run you $300
I would definitely read the mr2 and gt4 chassis repair manuals before opening the transmission. Also don't skip the step where you have to set the preload on the new differential, that part is critical. You will need a torque wrench that can read from 0-10 ft/lb to do this, and they are very expensive. so your best bet is to just buy an actual e153 and call it a day. if you still want to do it, read this to get an idea of the work involved: http://www.ae92gts.com/ae92gts_trans_rb_1.html This post has been edited by enderswift: May 26, 2012 - 8:11 PM -------------------- ![]() |
