I'd like a white one, please. With less knock-off BBS wheels.

I got to sit in a couple on Saturday and there are some good things and some bad things about it.
- I like the driver position in the car. Plenty of headroom without making you feel like you're in a huge car. - I like the 6sp trans feel and throw. Definitely not a Subaru transmission. - The seats are snug without feeling too cramped. I would prefer higher thigh bolsters, but with the car as low as it is it would make it hard to get out of, which leads me to my next point - It's easy to get in and out of! My MR2 you basically have to fall out of - the low roofline coupled with the large thigh bolsters on the Sparcos makes it difficult to get in and out of. The FR-S is much much easier than most cars of it's size. - They padded the top of the door panel with soft leather where you would normally rest your arm with the window down. Never knew how awesome that could be. And some bad things... - The gauge cluster is cramped... bad. As in the steering wheel hides almost everything but the tach, which is fine for track days, but how about fuel levels, CEL's, temp gauge, etc. You know, the things you look at on your daily drive to work? - The back seats won't fold flat unless you scoot the front seats all the way up, let the back seats fall, and then scoot the front seats back and HOPE you can still drive comfortably. - Dashboard looks and feels cheap - No realistic use for the back seats - Mediocre trunk space And the worst thing of all... - impossible to get a test drive in one because they're being bought up sight unseen before they hit the lots. Anyone looking to not make an impulse buy will need to wait until late Summer if you even want to get behind the wheel. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

^ Thanks for further impression on the dash. From pictures, it looks like the standard poor-to-the-touch hard plastic employed nowadays. I'm a bit disappointed in the dash design, it's one of the things I love about the Celi now, and wish they'd paid a bit more care to.
Here's what I mean; part of this looks like an 80's cluster to me, but not in any way that is good. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

all the negative factors about this car, is all stuff I expect out of a car at this price point.
I still think is a great deal for the money, and if I didn't have a wedding schedule for July this year, I would have gotten one for my wife, but will have to wait till next year and I rather have at the very least 60% of the cost for the down payment. I test drove a BMW 135 last year and had the same complaints about the crappy interior and lack of attention to detail for a higher price. The only 1 series that gets a nice interior to the touch is the 1M. and is an issue across the board unless you go with the high end version of the car. -------------------- |

my local dealer called me up (because i was first on a non paying list) and said one that was not spoken for had arrived today, and i figured going into the dealer i wouldn't get a test drive. I jokingly asked to go for a short drive around the block and sure enough he handed me the keys and off we were!
all i can say is wow. hands down one of the most fun cars to drive -slower than the Z but i would take the FR-S in a heart beat. -the analog speedometer was useless, never looked at it once -all controls were easily reached and you dont need to look at what you are using (ac controls and such) -shortest throw stock shifter i have ever felt i was damn close to buying it but the dealer wanted 4k for a "market adjustment". I argued that scion is tied to a set price but they fed me bull**** about how they advertised the price online. i walked away knowing that it prob sold tonight. i was overall completely impressed. for the sticker price of 24.9, you wont find a better, more enjoyable car to drive. -------------------- 2015 Subaru WRX. I'd call Scion's regional headquarters and file a complaint against that dealership.

I got to see one of these today, just unloaded from the truck and cleaned up. The owner was at the dealership so I just snapped some crappy iPhone pics and got out of his way.
I'm not a fan of the styling, based on pictures. I liked the "86" emblem on the fender, but I still loathe the front bumper and how it doesn't know whether it has underbite or overbite. Altezza style taillights, still played out and making a comeback doesn't seem likely. The side profile of the car is great, and I liked the rear end. Interior, I hated the radio, but the rest wasn't bad. The stock seats look like they belong in a much more expensive car. The wheel gap is typical Toyota 4x4. The salesman told me I was welcome to come back and drive one when they get more in stock, even though he knows I won't be buying one. I think I'll drive one for sure, but until then I'm still in a "like-hate" relationship with the FR-S. I'm glad Toyota is trying but I still find it very very difficult to get wrapped up in the hype. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. ^ I'm betting your mind will change once you drive it. I'm still waiting for a dealership around here to get them. Per the styling, I think the tail lights are a nod to the trends of past, same as the whole car is a nod to the '86...just Toyota's way of complimenting certain styling in a fresh package. I really like it.

I was offered to buy one when I picked up an oil filter for the celica today. Looks neat. Asked how long that one had been on the lot, salesman ASSured me its been there for weeks (funny, cuz I was there last week buying oil for the gf's Scion ) Snapped pics. It was a red one. Can't upload them till we get the cable at the house. Cool though, sounds like new (poor) car quality.
