when to court yesterday, almost got 6 months in prison for spinning my tires getting onto a main late one night with no traffic around. I got pulled over by 5 cops and thrown outta my car and they tore my car apart looking for something. Judge ruled 200 dollar fine and 20 hours driving school.......i'm pissed but better then jail time.
What has this world come to when someone can get away with murder but almost get sent to jail for spinning his tires.... |

Collin, thats gehy, espically since you have a st. Which barely has the power to spin out anyway. But its good that you didn't go to jail, but on the other hand why did they pull you over for spinnin anyway thats jsut dumb. Also do you still have the car? cause I remeber you saying that you were going to sell it.

you shoulda told the cops you had 2 pounds of crack hidden through out the car so they would look harder for nothing lol....anyways man thats a$$ but it doesn't beat getting a ticket for witnessing a moving violation (street racing) that is a ticket i giggle at....well not when i was in court for it but yea very stupid laws have been coming out lately, most of which are said to scare you

technically if they searched your car with out probable cause you can sue them now. like if a cop ask you mind if i search your car you can say No. then he has to say well i smell weed or something then he can have probable cause to search. but for chirping tires ??!??! thats BS

the cop didn't say 6 months jail...the judge did while i was standing in front of him in court...i almost sh*t my pants! TN just came out with a new law that states something about if you see an emergency vehicle coming up on you you should pull over or atleast slow down. If you dont they can cite you for up to like so many dollars.....how f'in rediculous is that????

Cops often have a bit of bargaining power when it comes to searching cars. When I got pulled over while taking my friend home from our senior party, I got pulled over for having hyperwhite turn signals. The cops smelled alcohol in my friend's breath and gave us both sobriety tests and breathalizers, and they arrested my friend. They then told asked me if they could search my car. They hinted at being nice and letting me go without a ticket for the lights if I let them search the car, so I let them just search it. I later talked to a cop and got to talking about this, and he said that what they did(bargaining, essentially, to get to search the car) was illegal. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

But I didnt know there was 2 Cops behind a f0king Dirtpile and they heard me and bammm rush ot the Scene!! So all my Friends and other People had to leave the Scene while the Cops had to write a ticket for me. Cops here are f0king Assholes!!

dude i totally feel ya on that, the same thing happened to me. i was driving my friends home and peeled out in my moms accord. cops pulled me over and cited me and everything. when i went to court the judge said that the maximum fine for spinning your tires, or "exhibition of speed", is $1000 and 6 weeks in jail. luckily i just had to do 3 days of work project. the worst part about all this is that the night i got pulled over was my prom night. talk bout a night to remember. |

They ain't arseholes man, just do you little fun things elsewhere, like at a designated parking lot on weekends. Ask warehouses or ocmpanies that are closed on weekends if you could use their parking lot, because if you get written permission to do that there then if the cops happen to come around you whip out the papers and they leave.
Sucks you almost got sent to jail, but you were spinning your tires so whatever you did get you deserved. I'm not saying I don't do these things, I just don't get caught doing it...and most times it's legally done at the autocross meets and tracks. And Powell, in Minnesota and many other states...that's been a law for long time. Even if it wasn't a law, I'd get the hell out of their way because why would I would to get in the way of some ambulance or fire truck trying to save someone's life, or a cop trying to catch someone committing an actual severe crime. I figured it was common sense to pull to the side when you see flashing lights in your rear-view, maybe I was wrong. -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT

they can search it as much as they want as long as its in plain site. Now you could have a backback with a human skull in it on the passanger seat and they cant touch it without your permission. anything they can see they can look at, only way they can get in the trunk or glove compartment is with probale cause ie. drug dogs, blood dripping from the backpack etc. or if you already broke a law, they can have a hayday. |

Not many companies are goin to say "sure, go ahead and go crazy in our parking lot, thats fine with us" As for autox.......there is no autox tracks within a 100 mile radius of where I live...maybe its like that for him too. I really don't see the bad thing in chirping tires when there is no traffic nearby... |

Dont get me wrong on that law, i just think it's upsurd that they had to make it a low in the first place. I mean how the hell is a cop going to stop what he is doing and pull you over to give you a ticket for getting in the way and then proceed to whatever he was doing. I just they could just call in the plates or whatever but it's still common sense like you said to get out of the way.
As for spinning my tires and almost getting sent to jail and just taking it like a man. The next time i commit murder or steal a car you can say that to me...but when i bark my tires getting onto a major road i dont really want to be talked to about getting sent to jail. There are far worse crimes in this world then barking your tires. For instance when my sisters car was broken into and her purse and phone and everythingout of it was stolen....not a damn single cop came. NO ONE! but when i bark my tires 5 cops pull me over and pull me and my friend out of the car and tear the car apart looking for "nothing." It's rediculous! Not to mention my good looking friend that is a girl has been pulled over 14!!!! times and not once gotten a ticket. One was for doing 85 in a 45. She said she just didn't know what the speed limit was and they let her off with a warning ticket. How ****ed up is the system! |

Same type of thing happened to my friend's Jeep. I was following one kid who was going about 70 out of a driveway type thing onto a real road (no turn, the drive way became the road) and my friend in his Jeep was following me. A van pulled out behind my friend and started to follow him (no lights, no siren, unmarked car) and when my friend stopped, 3 cops came out and took my friends out of the jeep and started searching the car. One of my friends told the cops that was illegal and the cops just brushed it off. Then they left once they found nothing.
