Rota rims come in lower offsets. I bought a set of 17x9 +33 and haven't had issues but I've read mixed reviews on their quality. Consider your budget and how much you drive the car and go from there.

You'll have the same issue with the TC wheels or 7th gens, they will all be sunk in like crazy, and look brutal unless your throw a huge spacer on it.
But since you're in the market for new wheels, size them properly and you'll be able to avoid using spacers.

That's really true. My gts rims looks so sunk in. Ima buy some spacers sometime.

i said for track, read what I wrote! 7th gen wheels don't look so bad with 205/50R16 tires. stock tire size

the reason they offer such high offsets is because they are meant for subaru's (hence a diff chassis!)

id say about 80% of the rota wheels that look good have a minimum of +45 off set and higher.

Lol there is nothing wrong with them as long as you drive like a normal person, heaps of the drifters here use them and havn't had a problem but if you go
hitting every pot hole and bump of course there not going to last.

These rotas are +32, and they have heaps that are lower then that aswell.

EDIT: They are +30 not +32 smile.gif

I shall call it hellasucked. laugh.gif I don't like the flush look, and the stock sucked in look is ok. I guess somewhere in the middle is where I'd like it to be.

$99/wheel. MB Five X. 17x7. Seem to be quite heavy though...Amazon down there says 28 lbs, but that must be shipped.

http://www.amazon.com/MB-Wheels-Gloss-Mach...Wheels+Five+X+1

Honestly, I would scour your local Craigslist to see what is on offer - wheels get nicked and dented so easily, it's not a bad idea to buy used wheels, as long as they're not bent in any way - the surface can always be refinished, cheaply at that as well. I picked up my wheels, with tires that I ended up using for another year and a half, cost me $280. There are deals out there...

If you're looking for wheels too, check out my specs, They're not really flush, but really sucked in either, but I can't remember off hand the sizing (I think 18x8 +35 )
and I didn't even need to roll fenders, and it is lowered.

Rota wheels will fail as much as Enkei RPF-1 will fail, as much as any other wheel you slam into a pothole will fail.

There's more reports of people breaking rota wheels than "original" wheels because those who buy rota don't give a **** if they break one, since they're so cheap. People with $3000 wheels won't daily drive them, and most of the time live in places like California with their awesome roads.

I've seen bent RPF-1 in person. Hell I've seen OEM wheels bent and cracked.

Rotas aren't knockoffs. Sure, they make wheels that look the same as other wheels, but they have rigorous testing procedures just like any other decent wheel manufacturer...

Just because they look like a more expensive wheel doesn't mean they're a "knock-off". I don't see people saying Corollas are Celica knock-offs.

not to be an ass of start a fight.
but they are knock off's
they are imitations of the real thing.
and a corolla is an entirely different car than a celica

not that that an imitation wheel is bad, I dont care. The 17 year old me would have gotten rota's in a heartbeat lol

This is just a difference in brands. Buy an Armani suit or one from Men's Warehouse...they look similar but one costs 4X more. The difference is in the details and the tags smile.gif In my opinion, a "knock off" would be a product with all the brand identifiers on it trying to pass as the original. Either way, no matter how old you are, figure out your budget and how much you want to spend on your car and go from there. Good luck

What do you exactly define "knock-off" as? They're not "imitations", they don't sell them as "TE37", or "Spoon", or "Gram Lights", etc...

So if I am a wheel company and I make a mesh-style wheel, I'm selling BBS knock-offs?

And no, a celica and a corolla are much alike. They share the same suspension, the same engine, transmission, most parts, etc. 4a-fe, 7a-fe Corolla, 1zz Corolla... etc

in an effort to not have this be ongoing and desist from taking this topic more off track than it has already gotten , this will be my "closing statement"

this, as much everything is with cars, is opinion based.
Just like CELL said. In his opinion.

I personally think rota's are imitations of the real things.
Nothing I say will change your opinion on that matter.
