...you can differentiate the SS-I SS-II and SS-III easily

till this day, dont ask me about these differences, i only know the ss-III the most but not even enough to say enough besides the JDM parts. ss-i and ss-ii i noticed are mostly motor differences, see, i can't even fill up this paragraph trying to differentiate those.

haha, yea i'm still around.. you and i have been on here so long doing every mod possible except a 3S swap!
at the time i couldn't afford it but i read enough about the swap that i could potentially pull it off without much hassle.
now that i have a 3S in my possession, you really should get one too.. it's a whole new level of fun! will keep ya loving the car and guarantee your presence here on 6gc a few more years

That is so f'en true, i was just thinking the exact same thing...the only difference between you and me is that you already got the 3s in possession, and yes believe it or not, I've been reading about the 3s swap recently cus like you said, thats the only thing me and you haven't done yet. My plan was if I still have the car, which i plan to keep forever, was turbo the 5s or get a 3sgte, thats actually my next project in mind, but becomes a forced option if my 5s blows. Also, wider wheels too. LOL, good paragraph to describe me and you - couldn't have said it better.

Some mods i'm currently working on or just completed recently or this year:
Chrome my spare valve cover - replace gaskets
Just recently replaced my rear calipers/brake pads
just replaced my alternator
just replaced my slave cylinder
just put on Kelspot polished radiator brackets
just replaced radiator
just replaced evaporator, expan valve, and drier, recharged
recently replaced endlinks/sway bushings
recently replaced inner/outer tie rods

IMO the SS-II and SS-III have more incommon with each other than the SS-I and SS-II.

you know you own a celica when you say you're going to keep it until it dies.. or that you're never going to sell it.

Heard that same line a million times here, but they end up selling it anyway, or disappearing from the site.

You know you own a celica and really like it when you have more than 1, or from another gen. -----like me.

Gerald, this is where half my efforts and money go into, my other celica. which means the 3sgte could've been reality but decided to get this one up and ready.

you know you own a 6gc when it looks like you're doing MAJOR front end work but really you just had to change out your headlight.

All you need now is a 185..... in black of course

Celica passing by...

SS-1 - No sideskirts, no 15" factory wheels, when modified can differentiate sound diference between 3sfe and 3sge

SS-2 / SS-3 - Factory sideskirts, 2pot brakes gives a good indication a 3sge motor lives under the hood, early model SS-3 look for "super strut suspension" sticker on bottom of rear windscreen.

GT4 from behind - Look for low gas tank

1998 SS-3 - The only model st202 that stands out on its own

SS-1 - Rev counter to 6200
SS-2/SS-3 - Rev counter to 7000

I think this is my favorite so far.

Its actually the car, i would've had today but at the time couldn't get the one i wanted, so the 6gc came about, and then thats what I ended getting.

You know you own a Celica when you're daily driving an IS 300/350Z but you much prefer the feel of a Celica.

you know you own a celica when you want another car thats "better" but you still keep the celica, you are just that sentimental.

or i've seen peeps get rid of their celica, only later to buy another one again.

yup. my celica got totalled and quickly had to buy another.
