does anybody have coomer's paypal?

I'm thinking we get together a collection, $2-5$ donations to someone reliable, and then paypal gift him the money saying "here, this should help keep the site open for a while, so PLEASE fix the spambot problem"

It's only being done to get Coomer's attention so he can address issues that need resolved.

Pedalroom.com or something like that. I hate bothering the guy. I know he's busy. But still... It can't hurt to ask him, right?

Bull****. The guy has been "busy" for 3 years........

All Coomer needs to do is give the current mods administrative control. 5 minutes of work for him?

Guys, here are ponts of contact for Christian Coomer if you haven't tried to look up this stuff already:

His personal work site
http://cisforcoomer.com/

His LinkdIn profile:
http://www.linkedin.com/in/coomer

twitter:
http://twitter.com/coomer

flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/coomer/

gmail account:
christiancoomer@gmail.com

and phone number:
(206) 849-5668

Seriously, if you didn't look for these points of contact, you should not be allowed to run a forum. Mods, I will call and email Christian and let him know that you want to take control of the site and update it with spam control as we on Pedalroom are running into the same thing.

timmy2 My apologies that he has spammed your site you are on, (I saw a screenshot of the threads he created). A better approach for you would have been to join and pm a mod about the issue & we would take further action. Thank you though for the contact notes for Coomer.

Timmyface Not a good move, what you should have done was created 1 thread in their website discussion section outlining the issue and wanting contact with Coomer, but instead you've created another mess for a mod/admin to clean up.

New tactic: I say we take the same collection but rather than pay Coomer, we hire a computer hacker and tell them to have fun.

Seriously, I'm trying to decide if I'm glad they figured out how to start new threads. At least now I can tell which real threads have new posts...

Going through his old posts, most of the site is written in PHP but some of the updates are in Rails, so we definitely need somebody that knows those two types of code.

There are a few types/forms of spambots we have, which post differently, depending where they are from.

1. posts 3-4 posts or new topics
2. posts 6-10 new topics
3. posts 200+ posts in any thread

Just add further authentication while signing in, or have new users be approved.

Purge all the obvious bots.
