Hello guys.
What would you recommend me for lowering the car? TRD or Tein Springs? or any other brand? What's your opinions? Thanks -------------------- |

Im running the tein s techs man and I love them I am running the kyb gr-2's to compliment them I believe the trd springs drop the car a little bit more but the s techs r perfect in my opinion

just curious how your teins hold up to hard driving, like canyons or track days?

I have the Tein springs as well and am pleased with them. The TRD springs don't drop quite as much and are a bit softer. Want to say someone one here went from the Tein springs to TRD since they wanted a closer to stock ride, and had posted pictures.

I prefer the TRD springs, but then again I am only saying that because my TRD springs before dropped lower than Tein springs for some reason. best for everyone to put pics between the two springs, so that we can see teh differences with height and types of wheels.

Different Lowering Spring Rates: Stock: Front 2.9 kg/mm, Rear 2.2kg/mm Tein: Front 3.9 kg/mm, Rear 2.2 kg/mm Tanabe Df210: Front 3.1 kg/mm, Rear 2.8 kg/mm Tanabe Nf210: Front 2.9 kg/mm, Rear 2.3 kg/mm Tanabe Gh210: Front 3.5 kg/mm, Rear 3.0 kg/mm TRD: Front 4.1 kg/mm, Rear 2.9 kg/mm softer I think not. The rear springs from tein are same spring rates as stock. From What I've heard trd are the best performing springs available for ST202's ST205's better to hear that though from someone's who's experienced both. ^ That, or Megan springs. The Megan units are lowest and stiffest for the Celica.

My rule is if you already have interest in coilovers dont waste your money on springs, i had TRD and moved to Intrax before I eventually went with Megan coilovers. I regret the springs unless you like it only a little dropped. at the same time just save your money until you can get coilovers instead of having to pay for the spring set up and eventually have to pay again the full price of the coilovers which you should have saved for in the first place, the money for the spring set up puts you closer to coilovers, but buying springs setup puts you farther away from coilovers, because then you'd probably want to make your spring setup worth it and run it for years, and in the end you never get the coilovers or sell the car, whatever happens.

I'm currently using Megan springs, the drop isn't that low up front but it still looks good and the ride quality is quite good as well

when i had the Intrax Springs it was 1.8 all around, decent drop for springs.

i went from tein to TRD, the ride feels better, and not as hard as before, in the bouncing point, However, i istalled swaybars, so taking curves is a lot more fun.

No pics? honestly, there is a lot of pics of tein and trd all over this site, you can actually search by keywords in the members find page. TRD has better spring rates but is basically exactly the Eibach pro kit rebadged. I think if you are going to stick to a slight drop go for a spring/shock combo (TRD, EIBACH SPORTLINES, INTRAX, etc.), if you plan to go lower than 1.8" I'd screw the BS and go coilovers now. My work has prevented me from going into my photobucket account so wasnt able to post my TRD vs Intrax Setup. for you maybe if I get back online later at home i may have time. -------------------- 94 Celica GT

the specs I posted for trd vs tein spring rates shows that trd are stiffer in kg. But from members usage it seems the other way around ???
