Hi! In process of de-badging and I've got a couple questions.

1. Whilst de-badging the rear Toyota emblem, what is the best thing to do with the two holes that are left behind?
2. As for the Toyota emblem on the front, how exactly do you get that off?

I've heat-gunned and cut away the tape with dental floss, as well as cleared all remaining residues of the 3M adhesive using a terry cloth saturated with WD-40. Now, I've just got the holes to deal with (I don't want water leaking into those) and since the adhesive is cut from the front emblem, it's just kind of sitting pinned there with the edges sticking up.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and thanks for your time and help!

Stick the emblem back in, I like that one! I don't know why take it off in the first place, must be something "Toyota" left.

Well, I agree! laugh.gif
However, I was thinking of a complete de-badge for now and then when I get around to repainting go with a decal under the clear or paint it on, just to keep it way flush! But who knows, maybe I WILL stick that back on for now. But then that comes to this: what is the best thing to put them back on with? And also, if the little silicone nipples fell into the hole, should I just stick some liquid silicone in there before putting it back on?

Any suggestions for the front emblem?

Ah, if the pins fell off that's an odd one...I've never worked with that specific emblem, but any non-runny, waterproof, paint-safe adhesive should work.

Well, the pins themselves didn't fall off; those are still on the emblem. The little plastic coverings that sit in the holes that the pins slide into are what fell in!

Ah. Well then, you may chance at removing the hatch panels. Snap off the small square, then start popping the rest off (gently) with a screwdriver or similar. The panels pop loose at the rear edge first.

to take off the toyota badge in the front without breaking anything you gotta take off the bumper and release the locking washers from inside. or you could just force it off and use double sided tape if you decide to put it back on.

^ You know what you can also do? You can also park behind your brother in the driveway, and then when he leaves for work in the morning he'll forget your car is there and he'll back right into it! Oh you have to try it, it's so much fun. The best part is when you're driving down the road and see a flash of silver flying across your hood, which you're soon to realise is your emblem detaching itself. Then when you get home and finally notice there's cracked clearcoat and your emblem's now gone.

Oh geeze. Both of those last two options don't sound fun at all. laugh.gif
I ended up leaving the front emblem on for now, and going with this look on the back. I think it's simple and looks nice. Thoughts?

Yeah, just the 3M emblem adhesive. Funny enough, I went to two different auto stores that didn't have it or anything like it and then I find it drunk-walking a Wal-Mart at 4am. tongue.gif

Awesome! I want to do an old emblem on the front! Or back, depending. But I'll get around to figuring it out! What I've got now is good for now. I'm happy with it!

That Toyota badge seems a bit too small to me... I't say it looks good if it were at least twice as big (let's say the same length as the brake light), but in this case I'd prefer the logo badge smile.gif I like some fresh ideas though, +1 for that smile.gif

Ahh, I know! I was wishing it was a bit bigger! That'd look so nice. I'm just glad it's big enough to cover the holes!
