my coupe is having issues as well. my s54 will go into gear when it wants too.. at times it wont go into any gear at all and as you try and put it into gear it wants to pull the car forward. other times the car will shift fine and can actually make a trip down the road and back quick, then park it and wont go back into gear.. i replaced the master and slave and bleed it a million times but still acts up.

i can hear my 6puck chatter when the clutch is working []as it is disengaged but when it doesnt want to shift i dont hear the chatter at all. could i have sprung a spring in my clutch? im stuck at this point.. im going to check the shifter cables as it seems it could be an issue if its happened to you guys.

ive replaced my master, slave, adjusted clutch pedal and car wont go into gear. but does go into gear when it feels like it. any ideas??

That sounds to me like it might be your clutch.

yea more than likely yes. Read the first page. there I posted a link to an evo forum with guys describing the same issues as you.

also does your car jolt forward when you turn it on while have your foot all the way on the floor and it being in first gear??

clutch chatter certainly shounds like a torn spring, although I myself have never experienced that.

ya im pretty sure its my clutch, i talked to one of my dads machanics as well today and hes sayign its the clutch as well. im placing an order for a clutchmasters, not feeling the comp clutch..

6 puck clutches always chatter anyway, but the chatter has gotten louder which leads me to believe the clutch is bad. it does jolt forward too.. sucks.

got a question regarding clutch pedal adjustment. if I adjusted it once, like 4 days ago, its starting to do the same thing again. Engagement is real short again. why is that??

is it necessary to retighten the lock nut with wrench once the correct pedal height is acquired??

puck clutches chatter thats something you need to expect. sometimes it loud sometimes it low. and it jolts forward cus the comp clutches are freakin strong as hell. my buddies run the same comp clutch in the states and do 11s. i have it too but i only got it cus Tweak hooked it up for me. I just got used to the chatter and jolting. Next time id get round faced.

here's the scenario:

car's at a dead stop with the engine running, I cannot go into 1st, 3rd, or 5th gear unless pressing the clutch pedal. Then I try to go into 2nd, 4th or Reverse and all I get is a spongy feel in the shift knob. I even press the clutch pedal and it still wont go into gear 2nd, 4th or Reverse.

whats the problem frown.gif

car was fine 2 weeks ago when I installed a new master clutch cylinder. problem and all details starts on this thread linked below.

did you do a oem clutch master? I've replaced mine with a napa one and it went out twice in a year. I got smart and just got a oem toyota one. Make sure your positive that the clutch pedal is adjusted good and you bled the system out well.

my next thought was go with a napa clutch slave clyinder since I know they carry high quality products.

I just installed the new master cylinder, pumped the pedal for 5 min straight. Added necessary fluid and drove off. Now their is black residue in the reservoir and I'm afraid that if I try and bleed the air out of the system it won't even engage into the gears anymore.

mind you when car is off gears go in just fine. the only thing to check is shifter cables right there is nothing else right. this is what mine looked like I then taped it with electrical tape. posted a wtb thread for this shifter cable, but no luck yet... my guess is that when the car is running this cable has a lot more tension than when the car is off???

now my car wont even go into 2nd, 4th, or Reverse while the car is off or on. it'll just shoot back to nuetral. All I have is 1st, 3rd, and 5th gears.
